A rolling-contact bearing has an outer ring, an inner ring or a shaft rotational relative to the outer ring and a full complement of rollers disposed for rotation between the outer ring and the shaft. A semisolid gel-like lubricant composed of a mixture of a gelling agent and lubricating oil is packed into interstices or gaps between the outer ring and the rollers and among the adjacent rollers to retain surely the rollers on a circular inside surface of the outer ring. The gel-like lubricant is composed of the lubricating oil of mineral oil or base oil, and a powdery oil gelling agent based on amino acids.

A roller bearing cage is disclosed, which is provided inexpensively from basic minimum quantity of row material. The roller bearing cage is made with a production method using rolling operations, which is the absence of the formation of chips, while ensuring the strength and stiffness of the cage. A circular inside surface of the cage is made to give an advantage to the rolling operations. The circular inside surface is circularly recessed to have a concaved surface of just one radius of curvature R. A diametral dimension across diametrically opposing bottoms of the circular recess is made larger than the pitch circle distance P.C.D. Pillars of the cage have inside retainer lips, which are hard to make any engagement with their associated rollers, which might worsen the engine performance.

A linear motion guide unit is disclosed wherein separators are arranged between any adjoining rolling elements, or balls, running along endless-circulating passages and interconnected with each other through strings in such an individually replaceable manner. The separators are each interposed between any adjoining balls so as to space apart them from each other. The separators each have a separator column formed with ball-contacting surfaces for carrying the balls thereon at opposite faces in a running direction of the balls, and webs formed integrally with the column and extended fore-and-aft along the running direction of the balls over the balls, and the webs being each provided therein with channels. The separators are arranged between the adjacent balls in series and interconnected with each other by the strings that thread through the channels in the webs.

A top cover is disclosed that is able to reduce the number of processing steps required for processing and assembly of the entire guide unit into which the top cover itself is included as one of its parts, contribute to reduced costs, facilitate easy attachment and removal to and from a track rail, and be installed on various types of track rails that have already been installed on a machine tool and so forth. In addition, a track rail unit is disclosed that is composed by combining the top cover and track rail, and a guide unit is disclosed that contains the track rail unit. The above effects are obtained by using fastening member insertion holes formed in a track rail, and employing a top cover having an engaging portion that elastically fits into those insertion holes.

A roller and cage assembly is able to accept large loads due to the high rigidity of the cage, while having an excellent lubrication property that enables it to demonstrate favorable high-speed rotation performance even under conditions of low levels of lubrication, thus giving it a high level of universal applicability. The rigidity of the cage is increased by providing thick-walled portions on each column of the cage. Together with being formed on a straight line, these thick-walled portions provide reinforcing action at prescribed locations. In addition, these thick-walled portions also function as guide portions that guide the rollers. These thick-walled portions are arranged so as to correspond to the center slit formed in the big end of a connecting rod for supplying lubricant, thereby enabling them to achieve improved lubrication performance.

Roller and cage assembly

Firstly, a roller and cage assembly is disclosed that achieves improved lubricating property while maintaining or increasing rigidity. While concave portions are formed so as to extend the width of the central portion of pockets to allow these to act as oil grooves, on the other hand, padding equivalent to lightening holes that are removed by providing said concave portions is performed in columns to obtain high rigidity. Secondly, a roller and cage assembly is disclosed that together with being inexpensive and having high wear resistance, suppresses the generation of heat resulting from high-speed rotation. The above-mentioned effects are obtained by forming a composite plated film at prescribed sites by uniform dispersed coprecipitation of fine particles of fluororesin. Thirdly, a roller and cage assembly is disclosed that together with suppressing the generation of heat resulting from high-speed rotation, also achieves light weight. The above-mentioned effects are obtained by using ceramic rollers.

A machine for testing a centrifugal load of a bearing including an outer race member, comprising a supporting frame including a sun ring, and a rotational main shaft. The rotational main shaft includes mounting portions for mounting the bearing to be tested. The mounting portions includes a mounting shaft for mounting the bearing to be tested and a supporting bracket for supporting the mounting shaft. The mounting shaft is arranged in the supporting bracket in parallel with the rotational main shaft in such a manner that a part of an outer peripheral surface of the outer race member is projected radially outwardly from the supporting bracket. The mounting shaft is journaled to a supporting bracket with a displacing margin in a radially outward direction to the rotational main shaft. An inner peripheral surface of the sun ring is used as a track to be rolled with the outer race members of the respective bearings to be tested. The bearings are rotated around the rotational shaft and around their own axes along the inner peripheral surface of the sun ring.

A roller-cage assembly for use in a bearing includes a cylindrical cage provided with a plurality of openings extending axially and spaced apart from one another circumferentially and a plurality of rollers, each of which is received in a corresponding one of the openings. Each opening is defined by a pair of oppositely disposed side guide surfaces and a pair of oppositely disposed end guide surfaces, whereby the distance between the pair of oppositely disposed side guide surfaces is larger than the diameter of the roller and the distance between the pair of opposite end guide surfaces is larger than the length of the roller, so that the roller may rotate freely within the opening. Also provided are at least a pair of oppositely disposed outer projections, which project oppositely from the pair of oppositely disposed side guide surfaces at their outermost locations, and at least a pair of oppositely disposed inner projections, which project oppositely from the pair of oppositely disposed side guide surfaces at their innermost locations, whereby the distance between the tips of each pair of the oppositely disposed inner and outer projections is smaller than the diameter of the roller. Thus, the roller is prevented from being undesirably removed from the cage radially by the inner and outer projections, axially by the pair of end guide surfaces, and circumferentially by the pair of side guide surfaces.

In a rolling bearing for rectilinear movement which is made by thin steel plates, the thickness of thin steel plates of table and bed are set to be thicker than those of conventional ones in order to provide rigidity, then the steel plates are formed due to press forming so as to have U-shaped cross sections. Track grooves each having a V-cross section are formed in the side walls of the table and bed. The V-shaped track grooves are subjected to cutting work and heat treatment and thereafter they are ground in order to improve the accuracy. Thus, it is possible to provide a cheap and light-weight rolling bearing for rectilinear movement which has high accuracy and high rigidity and is fitted for mass production.
