There is provided an electric power steering apparatus in which constituent elements of a control unit for controlling one of 2 winding groups of a motor and constituent elements of a control unit for controlling the other one thereof are arranged in point symmetry with respect to a center axis of an output shaft or in line symmetry with respect to a virtual straight line perpendicular to a direction in which the output shaft extends.

Electric power steering apparatus

A rotating electrical machine includes an annular coil connection body provided coaxially with a stator. The coil connection body has, in a groove provided on a holder, an overhang portion for restricting an axial-direction movement of a terminal, and a positioning projection for restricting a radial-direction movement of the terminal. The positioning projection positions the terminal such that a part of the terminal overlaps the overhang portion in the axial direction. In this structure, when the terminal moves in a direction from a terminal holding portion toward a groove opening, the terminal comes into contact with a side surface of the overhang portion, whereby lifting and coming-off of the terminal can be prevented.

It is placed substantially coaxially in order of a motor, the controller and a speed reduction mechanism in the motor shaft direction.

Motor for controller integrated electric power steering apparatus and electric power steering apparatus

A motor for an electric power steering apparatus can ensure an appropriate preload to an outer race of a rolling element bearing by adjusting the thickness of a spacer without replacement of a wave washer for a change in an axial dimension between a bottom surface of a bearing box and the bearing. The motor includes a rotor, a casing that receives the rotor and has the bearing box in which the bearing rotatably supporting a shaft of the rotor is received, an annular wave washer that is arranged between the bottom surface of the bearing box and the bearing, and applies a preload to the outer race of the bearing, and an annular spacer that is arranged between the bottom surface of the bearing box and the bearing so as to be in abutment with the wave washer for adjusting the preload applied to the outer race.

Motor for an electric power steering apparatus

An electro-hydraulic power steering apparatus in which a control device, a motor and a pump are integrated. The apparatus includes a first housing, a second housing, a control device surrounded by the first and second housings, a motor disposed on a side of the first housing and a pump disposed on a side of the second housing. The motor includes a rotor, a stator and a frame. The rotor has a first bearing supported by the first housing. The frame includes an inner circumferential face into which a stator core is press fitted and receives a second bearing of the rotor. The frame is secured to the first housing by a first clamp screw. The first housing and the second housing are secured by a second clamp screw. The first and second clamp screws are tightened from the hand of the frame.

Electro-hydraulic power steering apparatus

An electro-hydraulic power steering apparatus includes: a motor having a rotational shaft and provided with a bearing for rotatably bearing the rotational shaft; a hydraulic pump disposed at one end of the rotational shaft of the motor and driven by the motor; a first elastic body for supporting the bearing; and a second elastic body for pressing the bearing in an axial direction.

A stator core is formed into a cylindrical shape, 3n teeth are disposed at a predetermined pitch in a circumferential direction where n is a positive integer, and slots are formed between adjacent pairs of the teeth so as to open onto an inner circumferential side. A stator coil is installed as a concentrated winding in the stator core. A rotor is rotatably disposed inside the stator and 2n permanent magnets are disposed at a predetermined pitch in a circumferential direction on an outer peripheral portion of a shaft. The stator core is constructed such that a slot opening (d) and a slot pitch (p) at an inner circumferential surface of the stator core satisfy an expression 0.1&#x2266;d/p&#x2266;0.3.
