A gasification reactor is provided. The reactor comprises a first gasification area, a second gasification area and a shared combustion area. The shared combustion area is set between the first and second gasification areas. Therein, the (present invention applies interconnected fluidized beds in gasification. The connecting piping between the first and second gasification areas are separately replaced with dense beds to be integrated for forming a single reactor. Thus, the present invention simplifies the system, saves the cost and reduces the operation difficulty.

Gasification reactor with shared partial reactor vessels

A chemical looping reactor is provided. The reactor comprises a first reduction reactor, a second reduction reactor and a shared oxidation reactor. The shared oxidation reactor is set between the first and second reduction reactors. Therein, the present invention applies interconnected fluidized beds in chemical looping combustion. Single redox is processed with oxygen carrier (oxide of metal like nickel or copper). The first and second reduction reactors individually handle their own reactions and reactants. Thus, in a chemical looping reactor, two different source materials can be handled at the same time. The oxygen carrier can be cycled separately as well for fully releasing oxygen contained within. High-purity carbon dioxide is further obtained. The application can be extended to hydrogen generation. Hence, the present invention simplifies the reaction mechanism, enhances the yield, improves the operation efficiency and reduces the cost.

Chemical looping reactor with shared partial reactor vessels

An apparatus of hydrocarbon fuel reactors separates and purifies carbon dioxide (CO). Interconnected fluidized beds are applied in chemical-looping combustion. A multi-stage reduction reaction is processed with iron-based oxygen carriers. Three reduction stages using the iron-based oxygen carriers are accurately and completely controlled. Each of the three stages is separately processed in an individual space. Oxygen in the iron-based oxygen carriers can be fully released. High-purity COis obtained. Hydrogen can be produced as an option. Horizontal connection of three reduction reactors is changed into vertical one. An oxidation reactor is further connected. Thus, the whole structure occupies less area and effectively uses vertical space. Not only small space is effectively used; but also high-volume capacity is obtained. Each of the reactors has better geometry flexibility. The tandem reactor in each layer has less geometric influence and limitation. Therefore, each of the reactors can be resized on its own.

Apparatus of hydrocarbon fuel reactors having carbon dioxide separated and purified with space efficiency

The present invention provides a method for dynamically controlling the circulation rate of solids in an interconnected fluidized bed. When an interconnected fluidized bed is operating, it is available to control the circulation rate of solids by adopting the steps of adjusting the height difference between the orifice on the weir and the bottom surface of the bed region, adjusting the cross-sectional area of the above orifice, or adjusting the height of the above weir. By using multiple ways, the circulation rate of solids can be improved substantially. In addition, the curve of circulation rate of solids can be converged to the maximum circulation rate of solids effectively.

Method for controlling circulation rate of solids in an interconnected fluidized bed

A reactor for hydrocarbon fuel is provided. The reactor uses interconnected fluidized beds (IFB) in chemical-looping combustion for multi-stage reduction reactions of an iron-based oxygen carrier, namely hematite (FeO). Three-phase reduction reactions of FeOare accurately and completely controlled. The three-phase reduction reactions are separately processed while oxygen in FeOis fully released. Carbon dioxide with high purity is further obtained while hydrogen can be generated as a byproduct under a certain condition. Hence, the present invention has fast throughput, high-efficiency operation and low cost.
