A well tool assembly to monitor conditions across a liner hanger packer includes a liner hanger to support a well liner. A liner packer, which includes a seal element, two sensor sub-assemblies and a controller, is coupled to the liner hanger. The seal element is on an outer surface of the liner packer and can fluidically seal the outer surface of the liner packer to the inner surface of the tubular. The first sensor sub-assembly and the second sensor sub-assembly are attached to the outer surface of the liner packer on either side of the seal element. Each sensor sub-assembly can, respectively, sense well properties on the side of the seal element on which the sub-assembly is attached. The controller is operatively coupled to the two sensor sub-assemblies, and can receive sensed well properties from the two sensor sub-assemblies, and transmit the received sensed well properties to a receiver.

Monitoring well conditions across liner hanger packers

A closure mechanism and a method for plugging a flow control device of a well is provided. The closure mechanism includes a switch having a hollow interior and a U-shaped portion. The closure mechanism also includes a metal insert located within a portion of the hollow interior of the switch. The mechanism further includes a heating device positioned within the well. In the method, the heating device is activated in the well and melts at least a portion of the metal insert. The melted portion of the metal insert collects and re-solidifies within the U-shaped portion of the switch, thereby closing the switch and plugging the flow control device against flow.

Mechanisms and methods for closure of a flow control device

Embodiments of systems and methods for advanced inflow control valve systems is provided. Multiple micro-computer integrated downhole inflow control valves can be configured as part of an inflow control valve control system. Inflow control valves of the described system can be configured to include a micro-computer system configured with a micro-computer circuit board comprising a processor, memory, nonvolatile memory, networking capability, wireless communications channels, and software. The software can include an operating system, a communications interface program, and a program for inflow control valve control and monitoring functions. In an embodiment, each inflow control valve can be assigned an internet IP address. Inflow control valves configured to include micro-computer systems can be modified and programmed with smart device style configurations to be able to remotely communicate with devices residing at the surface and to offsite locations via its network interface and graphical end user interfaces such as website or mobile phone applications.
