A laundering aid having a core member, such as an elastomeric ball member, that includes a covering comprising an abrasive or brush-like material adapted for engaging and lifting matter, such animal hair, adherent to the surface of fabric articles when the laundering aid is placed into contact with clothing and other fabric articles within an operating tumble-type clothes dryer. The covering may further include a second material comprising a material that substantially lacks characteristics for lifting matter from other fabric, the first material being disposed adjacent to or over the first material to form a series of discrete sections having different properties that facilitate the dislodgement and or removal of the hair or other fine matter. The exemplary elastomeric ball member may be inflated for shape retention, while allowing for expansion when heated during the drying cycle. An exemplary method for using the laundering aid comprises the steps providing a laundering aid comprising a brush-like or abrasive outer covering adapted to engage and lift adherent matter and introducing the device into a tumble-type dryer with one more fabric articles, then operating the dryer until the adherent matter on the fabric articles has been substantially dislodged and vented from the drying chamber.

An apparatus and method for recovering vapor during the dispensing of gasoline via a hose into a vehicle tank, according to which a turbine disposed in a vapor passage and is activated in response to the dispensing of the gasoline for drawing the vapor from the tank and into the vapor passage. Blades on the turbine separate the air from the gasoline vapor. The vapor is returned to the liquid stream and the air discharged to atmosphere. The apparatus therefore does not require vapor return piping to the underground tanks.

Vapor recovery apparatus and method for gasoline dispensing systems

A vapor recovery system for a fuel storage tank. The system includes a pair of VOC adsorbent canisters that alternately recover VOC vapors from the fuel tank ullage or are regenerated. Regeneration of the VOC adsorbent canisters is provided by exhausting the VOC vapors from the VOC canisters using a vacuum pump and back into the fuel tank ullage. When the operating pressure of the fuel tank ullage is elevated, an auxiliary VOC adsorbent canister is operated in parallel with the pair of canisters in order to recover the increased amount of VOC vapors in the tank ullage.

A multi-product fuel dispensing system includes a plurality of reservoir tanks. Each tank has a specific grade of fuel stored therein. Each reservoir tank has a fuel delivery line connected thereto. A fuel delivery conduit has at least two flow channels. One flow channel is connected to receive a first grade of fuel from one of the fuel delivery lines, and another flow channel is connected to receive a second grade of fuel, of a lower grade than the first grade, from another of the fuel delivery lines. A nozzle has a connection to receive fuel from the fuel delivery conduit. A first proportional flow control and blend valve is connected in the system for receiving the first grade of fuel. A second proportional flow control and blend valve is connected in the system for receiving the second grade of fuel. A meter is connected in the system for receiving the second grade of fuel. An ultrasonic flow meter is mounted adjacent the nozzle and fuel delivery conduit connection for measuring the flow of fuel through the nozzle.

A system and method for handling a hose, according to which the hose is clamped to a clamp and the clamp is moved between a first position in which the hose is retracted and a second position in which the hose is extended. Manual movement of the hose from its retracted position is sensed and the clamp is driven to its second position, and manual movement of the hose from its extended position is sensed and the clamp is driven to its first position.

Gasoline dispensing system

A multiproduct fuel dispensing system for dispensing different grade fuels stored in several reservoir tanks. Several fuel delivery conduits deliver a specific grade of fuel from one or more of the reservoir tanks. Plural ultrasonic metering orifices are mounted in a single housing with shared electronic circuitry, and use sing-around measurement to measure flow. Each of the meters has a volume of about 50 cubic centimeters and a flow rate of about 10 gallons per minute. The housing is connected to the conduits to permit measurement of fuel flow through each meter.

A pumping system and method according to which a plurality of housings are connected together, with each having an inlet and an outlet for respectively receiving and discharging the liquid to be pumped. A single shaft is driven by a motor and extends though all of the housings, and a plurality of rotors are respectively disposed in the housings and are connected to the shaft for rotation therewith. When the shaft is rotated, the rotors pump liquid passing into their corresponding housings from its inlet, through the housing and out its outlet.
