A float chamber is defined within a body, which is also formed with an inlet passage for supplying fluid into the float chamber, and an outlet passage for taking fluid out from the float chamber opening into a lower part of the float chamber. A float is mounted within the float chamber so as to be movable up and down, and acts on a fluid valve for controlling fluid flow into the float chamber through the intake passage, causing the valve to open and close. The shapes of the float and the float chamber are such that the amount of fluid required to be present in the float chamber in order to float the float at the position in which it just causes the valve to be closed, in equilibrium between its weight and the buoyancy force exerted by the fluid, is independent of the angle of tilting of the float chamber within a certain tilting range.

Anti surge float chamber assembly

A carburetor having an accelerator pump for pushing fuel contained in the chamber of the pump into an air intake passageway of the carburetor by means of an accelerating pump piston during acceleration, a second pump chamber being expandable and contractable and communicating with the pump chamber via a throttle and a pressure control means for constantly applying pressure to said second pump chamber in a direction whereby the second pump chamber is allowed to expand only when fuel pressure in the second pump chamber exceeds a predetermined value.

Carburetor

A secondary air supply control system including: an air cleaner; an air pump connected to the air cleaner; a valve having a first chamber and a second chamber, which are separated by a diaphragm and communicated with each other through a first orifice, and controlling the supply of secondary air from the air pump to an exhaust manifold, in response to deflection of the diaphragm; and a passage connecting the second chamber to an intake manifold in a position downstream of a throttle valve in a carburetor and having a second orifice. In addition, a check valve which allows the flow of the secondary air only in the direction towards the exhaust manifold is provided in a passage interconnecting the valve and the exhaust manifold. In this system, an open cross-sectional area of the first orifice is smaller than that of the second orifice provided in the aforesaid passage.

Secondary air supply control system

This discloses an ignition-timing adjusting system for internal combustion engines, which realizes an advance of the ignition-timing relating to the temperature of an engine. This system comprises vacuum advance means responsive to a vacuum produced by the vacuum in the intake tube of the engine for advancing the ignition timing of the engine, and means for controlling the level of said vacuum produced by said intake-tube vacuum with relation to the temperature of the engine. When the engine is cold, the ignition-timing is advanced under control of said vacuum-level controlling means to the proper position for operation of the cold engine.
