A display apparatus for tape running positions is provided with a first pulse generator (36) for generating m first pulses for each revolution of a supply reel (12) in a tape transport, a second pulse generator (38) for generating n second pulses for each revolution of a take-up reel (14), and a counter (44 to 48) for counting the number of the first pulses during one period of the second pulse. The ratio of count value change in the counter for a time period from the start to the end of the tape running is expanded to the square of the change ratio of rotational speed of the reel from the beginning to the end of the tape winding. A counting range of the counter at this time is proportional to m/n.

Display apparatus for tape running positions

This invention is for a tape cassette having window for insertion of a magnetic head and a pinch roller formed extending from a peripheral wall of the housing of the tape cassette to one of the holding plates which holds a pair of reel hubs in place. The device according to this invention has a shutter member, and a resilient metal wire housed in the housing. The shutter member has projections which are to be engaged with an engaging member provided on a tape cassette holder member of the magnetic tape transport apparatus. The metal wire urges the shutter member to close a portion of the window formed in the holding plate. When the cassette is loaded into the loading member, the projections engage with the engaging member and the shutter member releases the closing state of the holding plate forming portion of the window against an urging force of the wire. When the cassette is removed from the loading member, the shutter member closes the holding plate forming portion to prevent the tape from being damaged by an external force.

Magnetic record tape protective device for a tape cassette

The disclosed tape recorder serves for supplying a microphone output to a recording and reproducing head through an amplifier during recording by switching a recording and reproducing switch. A noise removing circuit at the output of said amplifier suppresses the output from the amplifier to the head a predetermined time during application of an electric power supply source of the amplifier.

In a magnetic tape-automatic tracking method, at least one of the positions of the upper and lower edges of a magnetic tape is detected by an assembly of a tape edge position sensor and light-emitting diode. Any displacement of the running magnetic tape from its standard vertical position is determined from detected data. A generally vertical tape edge position-compensating post which applies a tensile force to the magnetic tape in contact therewith is rotated in a vertical plane by a reversible motor in accordance with the detected extent of the displacement of the running magnetic tape from its standard vertical position. The magnitude of a tensile force applied by the tape edge position-compensating post to the magnetic tape is varied, by the extent of the rotation of the reversible motor. As a result, the magnetic tape is vertically moved in the desired direction to regain its standard vertical position.

Method and apparatus for automatically tracking a magnetic tape

First and second capstans are rotated at respective speeds by first and second motors. The speeds of revolution of the first and second motors are detected as detection signals, and the revolution speed of at least one of the first and second motors is controlled in accordance with a difference between the detection signals. An offset voltage is added to one of the detection signals corresponding to the revolution speeds of the first and second motors for the control of tape tension.

Double-capstan tape driving device

A tape cassette according to this invention comprises at least three guide rollers disposed inside the housing of the tape cassette. The at least three guide rollers define a position of the magnetic recording tape of the tape cassette relative to the housing across the thickness thereof while the tape is travelling from one of two reel hubs held by the housing along a path extending adjacent a front wall of the housing, the front wall having openings for the insertion of a magnetic head and a pinch roller.

A tape tracking device for a tape recorder comprises first and second position detection heads disposed such that one of the first and second position detection heads is upwardly displaced by its one upper half from a track on which a signal is recorded and reproduced by a record/reproduce head and the other is downwardly displaced by its one lower half from the track, a DC reversible motor rotated according to a difference between the reproduced signals of said first and second position detection heads, and a post tiltable by an eccentric cam attached to a shaft of the motor and adapted to impart a pressure in the up and down directions to correct a deviation of the tape in the direction of the width of the tape.

A magnetic cassette tape record and play apparatus wherein the magnetic head thereof is fixed, comprises a push member cooperating with an operation button and which is so disposed as to abut against a pad spring received in a tape cassette. When the tape cassette is loaded or ejected in the stop mode, the push member is pressed against the pad spring to deform it against its urging force, thereby locking the cassette tape in a position untouched by the magnetic head. When the operation button is depressed for the recording or reproduction mode, then the push member is removed from the pad spring, thereby causing the pressure pad to be pressed against the magnetic head with the cassette tape disposed between the pressure pad and the magnetic head.

A video track display apparatus comprises a track position signal generator for producing a first signal representing the position of a track being used for video recording or playback, a window circuit for producing a second signal for determining a fixed position in one frame according to horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals and a character generator for producing a third signal for producing a character or characters to be displayed in the fixed position in one frame from the first and second signals. The character or characters is or are displayed on a view finder of a video camera or on the screen of a picture display apparatus according to the third signal.

A device for stably running a magnetic recording tape of a tape cassette comprises a reel shaft and a motor connected to the reel shaft. The reel shaft and the motor make a running of the magnetic recording tape providing back tension exerted on the magnetic recording tape. Within the housing of the tape cassette, a first lever having one end rotatably fixed to the housing is mounted. A guide roller for guiding the running direction of the tape is rotatably fixed to another end of the first lever. Therefore, the first lever may swing in response to a back tension exerted on the tape. An amount of the swing of the first lever is detected by a second lever which is rotably located out of the housing and selectably engaged with the first lever. The second lever is connected to the detection means which generates an electric signal in accordance with the amount of rotation of the second lever. The electric signal is sent to the electric controlling circuit means electrically connected to the motor. The electric controlling circuit means controls a value of the voltage supplied to the motor in accordance with the electric signal, and stabilize the value of the back tension exerted to the tape via the motor and the reel shaft.

Tape cassette drive assembly

A tape cassette comprises an impedance roller which is set on the opposite side of a magnetic tape to a magnetic head closely upstream thereof as viewed from the direction in which the magnetic tape runs. The impedance roller presses the magnetic tape toward the magnetic head, thereby preventing the magnetic tape from being shaken.

Within a housing of a tape cassette is mounted a reel hub serving to wind a magnetic recording tape. The reel hub is moved between a first position where one side edge of the tape wound around the reel hub is spaced from a wall of the housing and a second position where the one side edge of the tape abuts against the wall, reel hub being rotated at the first position by a reel shaft of a magnetic recordig tape running apparatus inserted through an opening of the wall of the tape cassette for engagement with the reel hub. Within the housing is also mounted a abutment member. The abutment member is movable between a third position where the abutment member is spaced from the other side edge of the tape wound around the reel hub located in the first position and a fourth position where the abutment member abuts against the other side edge of the tape wound around the reel hub located in the second position by the reel shaft inserted through the opening of the tape cassette housing for engagement with the reel hub. The abutment member is usually urged to the fourth position by a compression coil spring housed in the tape cassette housing.

Mechanism for preventing loosening of magnetic recording tape of tape

A microphone device detachably fitted to acoustic equipments such as tape recorders comprises a body detachably fitted to the acoustic equipment, a flexible cylindrical arm mounted to the body, a microphone provided to the free end of the arm, and a flexible conductor disposed in the hollow space of the arm for electrically connecting the microphone with the body.

An indicator for tape running direction and tape remnant amount is provided which comprises a ring counter clocked by a sensing pulse corresponding to the rotation of a take-up reel, a counter for providing count value corresponding to the period of the sensing pulse, comparators each for comparing the count value of the counter with reference data, gate circuits which are connected to the output circuits of the ring counter and controlled by the comparators, and a display unit which receives the output pulses of the gate circuits and includes a plurality of decimal points for indicating the tape running direction and the tape remnant amount. The output signals of the ring counter are shifted corresponding to the tape running direction. The number of signal circuits of the output pulses led from the gate circuit to the display unit depends on the result of the comparison by the comparators. The glint of each decimal point is progressively shifted flashing in the direction corresponding to the tape running direction. The moving range of the glint depends on the tape remnant amount.

Indicator for tape running direction and tape remnant amount

A channel division recording/reproducing apparatus is provided for dividing an input signal into signals for a plurality of channels through an Hadamard transformation, frequency modulating the signals of the respective channels and recording them and, after demodulating the recorded signals for the respective channels, subjecting the demodulated signals to an Hadamard inverse transformation and reproducing the input signal. Out of the Hadamard-transformed signals, the signal on the channel of the minimum frequency band is separated by a filter from the input signal and the separated signal processed by an additional Hadamard transformer and Hadamard inverse transformer and frequency modulated with a modulation index greater than the original signal and with a carrier of a lower frequency. An impovement in signal-to-noise ratio is thereby obtained. When recording a video signal, the 'beat' phenomenon between the video signal and carrier signal is reduced while the signal-to-noise ratio of the video signal as a whole is improved.
