The present invention provides a surface-mounting type antenna comprising: a base member made of an insulating material, including a first major surface, a second major surface opposite to the first major surface, and a plurality of side surfaces extending between the first and second major surfaces; a grounding electrode covering substantially the entire area of the first major surface of the base member; a strip-like radiation electrode mostly disposed on the second major surface, the radiation electrode having a first end and a second end, the first end being served as an open-ended terminal; a connecting terminal connected to the second end of the radiation electrode; a power-supply electrode disposed in the vicinity of the open-ended terminal of the radiation electrode; and a power-supply terminal connected to the power-supply electrode.

Surface-mounting type antenna, antenna device, and communication device including the antenna device

An antenna apparatus has improved gain, and its characteristics are barely affected by changes in the external environment in which it used, such as when it is placed close to a ground conductor. A surface-mount antenna and a monopole antenna are fed by a single feeding point, and the direction of an open end of the surface-mount antenna, taking a ground end of a radiation electrode as a reference, runs opposite to the direction of the open end of the monopole antenna, taking the feeding terminal as a reference.

Antenna apparatus and communication apparatus using the antenna apparatus

To reduce the manufacturing cost by reducing the number of surfaces of a dielectric base on which various patterns are formed, and to improve the ease of impedance matching while avoiding an increase in size. Each of a feed electrode and a ground electrode is formed between a position on an end surface and a position on a lower surface of a dielectric base. A radiation electrode is formed, which extends from a position on an upper surface to positions on the upper and lower surfaces via another end surface of the dielectric base.

Surface mount type antenna and communication apparatus

A method of mounting a surface mounting antenna on a mounting substrate, which can improve the gain. An electromotive type surface mounting antenna is mounted in the vicinity of one corner defined by the intersection of two sides of a mounting substrate. The surface mounting antenna is mounted on the mounting substrate so that an open end of a radiation electrode of the surface mounting antenna faces in a direction away from at least one side of the two sides.

Method of mounting surface mounting antenna on mounting substrate

A current-inducing-type surface-mount-type antenna which is short in length and thin in thickness and which can be formed into a small size and communication equipment having the same mounted therein. A radiation electrode substantially in the shape of a letter L or a sideways U and a power supply electrode are formed on the surface of a base made of a dielectric or a magnetic substance with a gap therebetween. A short-circuit end of the radiation electrode and the power supply electrode are connected to a grounding terminal and a power supply terminal, respectively, which are formed on an end surface of the base.

A surface-mount antenna includes a radiation electrode formed on one or more surfaces of a rectangular parallelopiped base member comprising a dielectric or a magnetic substance so as to have one end as an open end and another end as a first ground electrode, a feeding electrode formed on the surface or surfaces, and a second ground electrode formed in proximity to the open end of said radiation electrode.

Surface-mount antenna and a communication apparatus using the same

A surface mounting antenna in which easy formation of a radiation electrode can be achieved by forming it on the surface of a substrate, and also the antenna can be downsized by bending the radiation electrode. A communication apparatus using the above antenna is also disclosed. A ground terminal and a feeding terminal are separately disposed on one lateral surface. A loading capacitor electrode is formed on another lateral surface opposedly facing the surface on which the ground terminal and the feeding terminal are disposed. A stripline radiation electrode is further formed on the obverse surface of the substrate and is connected at the respective ends to the ground terminal and the loading capacitor electrode. A feeding electrode for connecting the matching portion of the radiation electrode and the feeding terminal is disposed on the obverse surface of the substrate.
