A cryopump includes a cryopump flange for attachment to the flange on a gate valve, and an annular baffle that axially extends toward the gate valve from the cryopump flange such that the annular baffle forms an annular orifice in association with a valve plate component of the gate valve. The annular orifice may be defined between an upper surface of the annular baffle and the valve plate.

A cryopump includes a cryopump including: a refrigerator; a first cryopanel including a radiation shield; and a second cryopanel enclosed by the first cryopanel and cooled to a lower temperature than that of the first cryopanel. The radiation shield includes an attaching pedestal located lateral to the second cryopanel for attachment of the refrigerator to the radiation shield, and a shield portion adjacent to the attaching pedestal and enclosing the second cryopanel. A lateral gap is formed between the second cryopanel and the attaching pedestal. A gap part continuing into the lateral gap is formed between the second cryopanel and the shield portion. The second cryopanel is shaped and/or located such that the lateral gap is comparable in width to the gap part.

Cryopump

A cryopump includes a cryocooler which includes a first cooling stage, a second cooling stage having a tip stage surface, and a cryocooler structure portion which extends in an axial direction from the first cooling stage to the second cooling stage, a radiation shield which is thermally coupled to the first cooling stage and includes a shield front end which defines a shield main opening and a shield bottom portion having a cryocooler insertion hole which receives the cryocooler structure portion such that the tip stage surface faces the shield main opening, a cap member which surrounds the tip stage surface in a non-contact manner and is thermally coupled to the first cooling stage, and a second stage cryopanel which is disposed between the cap member and the first cooling stage in the axial direction and is thermally coupled to the second cooling stage.

A pressure device applies pressure to a sheet medium on part of a surface of which an image bearer is formed. The pressure device includes: a driving unit that changes a distance between a first pressing unit and a second pressing unit; a control unit that controls the driving unit such that the distance between the first pressing unit and the second pressing unit becomes a set target value; and a target setting unit that sets the target value to a first distance that is larger than a thickness of the sheet medium when the sheet medium is not present between the first pressing unit and the second pressing unit, and sets the target value to a second distance for applying a target pressure to the sheet medium when the sheet medium and the image bearer are present between the first pressing unit and the second pressing unit.

A cryopump includes a first cryopanel including a radiation shield and a plate member across a shield opening and a second cryopanel enclosed by the first cryopanel and cooled to a lower temperature than that of the first cryopanel. The plate member includes a plate main portion and a plate peripheral portion adapted to attach the plate main portion to the radiation shield. The plate main portion includes a gas passing region having a multitude of pores through which gases pass to be condensed on the second cryopanel and a gas shielding region formed at a different position in the plate main portion from that of the gas passing region.

A cryopump includes a radiation shield, a top cryopanel, and a bottom cryopanel. The radiation shield includes a shield main slit that communicates a shield outside gap into a shield cavity. The top cryopanel includes a top cryopanel outer circumferential end located axially above the shield main slit. The bottom cryopanel includes a bottom cryopanel outer circumferential end located axially below the shield main slit. The regeneration controller includes a first determiner repetitively determining whether the discharging completion condition is met, a second determiner determining whether the number of times of determination for the completion condition or a period of time for which the discharging process continues is equal to or larger than a threshold value, and a temperature controller performing preliminary cooling of the cryopump if the number of times of determination for the completion condition or the period of time for which the discharging process continues is equal to or larger than the threshold value. The first determiner re-determines during the preliminary cooling whether the completion condition is met.

Cryopump system, cryopump controller, and method for regenerating the cryopump

A cryopump includes a top cryopanel that partitions a shield cavity into a shield cavity upper portion and a shield cavity lower portion. A radiation shield includes a shield main slit that communicates a shield outside gap into the shield cavity lower portion. The radiation shield may include a shield auxiliary slit that is formed at a different position from that of the shield main slit in an axial direction of the cryopump and that communicates the shield outside gap into the shield cavity lower portion. The shield auxiliary slit may be formed between the top cryopanel and the shield main slit in the axial direction.
