In general, according to one embodiment, there is provided an abnormality detection system of a rotary electrical machine. The system includes a plurality of magnetic flux sensors disposed at intervals on a back of a stator core in a circumferential direction or an axial direction, and configured to detect a magnetic flux, and an abnormality detection apparatus configured to detect an abnormality of the stator core from a predetermined event that appears in a composite signal or a differential signal obtained from signals respectively output from at least two magnetic flux sensors of the plurality of magnetic flux sensors.

According to one embodiment, there is provided a rotating electrical machine including a core, a coil extending from the core, and an electromagnetic shield which is provided outside the core, and has a plurality of shoulders projecting toward the coil. The coil includes an insulator covering outside of a conductor, a resistance layer formed on a surface of the insulator and contacting the core, and at least one potential grading layer formed on a surface of the insulator adjacent to the resistance layer. There is provided a 3-phase 2-layer armature winding of a rotating electrical machine. The lead-out connection conductor connected to the output terminal is connected to a coil piece positioned at least farther than a first coil piece inside the phase belt counted from the end of the each phase belt, and a coil piece positioned at the end of the phase belt is connected to a coil piece positioned at least farther than the n-th (n is an integer larger than 1) inside the phase belt counted from the other end of the phase belt in the same parallel circuit, by a jumper wire.
