A wireless communication device and a wireless communication method capable of improving the directivity of an antenna in a desired direction for a low cost are provided. According to one example embodiment, a wireless communication device includes: a printed board having a substrate surface; a ground plane having a plate shape that is disposed on the substrate surface, connected to the ground potential, and is parallel to the substrate surface; an omnidirectional antenna that is disposed alongside the ground plane on the substrate surface in one direction in a plane parallel to the substrate surface, and is caused to emit radio waves by being supplied with power; and a parasitic antenna that is disposed away from the ground plane in a direction perpendicular to the substrate surface and resonates with the omnidirectional antenna supplied with power.

In an antenna configuration in which two omnidirectional antenna elements that are arranged on a printed board, a device GND plane connected to a ground potential is formed on the printed board so as to cover an area other than a part where an electronic circuit is formed on the printed board, and parasitic antenna elements that are a first parasitic antenna element and a second parasitic antenna element are arranged at positions adjacent to the respective two omnidirectional antenna elements, in a state of being parallel to the omnidirectional antenna elements, and the parasitic antenna elements are arranged in a state of being close to the device GND plane, and entire lengths of the parasitic antenna elements are each set to be a length that is (½) of a wavelength of radio waves handled by the omnidirectional antenna element.

Wireless communication device and antenna configuration method

Provided is an antenna capable of maintaining excellent antenna characteristics even in a case where the antenna cannot be disposed at a desired position or a case where a plurality of antennas are disposed in a single apparatus. This antenna is characterized by being provided with: a printed wiring board; an antenna circuit which is disposed in a predetermined end portion of the printed wiring board and sends and receives radio waves of wavelength &#x3bb;; and a series resonance circuit disposed at a position in the predetermined end portion of the printed wiring board, the position being separated from the antenna circuit by a distance depending on the wavelength &#x3bb;. The antenna is also characterized by being arranged such that the extending direction of the predetermined end portion is perpendicular to the direction of radio wave reception.

Antenna and wireless communication apparatus

In order to provide an antenna technology capable of easily achieving, with a simple structure, a wide bandwidth in which wireless communication can be performed, an antenna device is provided with a feed antenna element, and a parasitic antenna element. The feed antenna element is provided on a circuit board, and is electrically coupled to a power supply that is provided on the circuit board. The parasitic antenna element is electrically coupled to the feed antenna element. The parasitic antenna element has a grounding portion. The grounding portion is electrically coupled to a ground layer via an inductive element, said ground layer being formed on the circuit board and having a reference potential.

An information processing system includes a client terminal and an information processing apparatus configured to cause an image forming apparatus to perform printing in accordance with print data. The client terminal includes processing circuitry configured to acquire address information of the client terminal on a network; transmit identification information for identifying the client terminal and the address information to the information processing apparatus; and receive a notification transmitted from the information processing apparatus based on the identification information included in the print data.
