A rotatably supporting device for correcting balance of a rotating body includes a journal supporting part having a mandrel that rotatably supports the rotating body in a floating state about a vertical axis, a thrust supporting part that is provided at a lower end portion of the mandrel and supports a bottom part of the rotating body in the floating state, a first fluid supply passage that supplies a fluid for floating between the mandrel and a rotation support hole of the rotating body, an annular groove provided in the thrust supporting part so as to face the bottom part of the rotating body, and a second fluid supply passage that communicates with the annular groove to supply a fluid thereto for floating the rotating body. A rotatably supporting device for correcting balance of a rotating body includes a journal supporting part having a mandrel that rotatably supports the rotating body in a floating state about a vertical axis, a thrust supporting part that is provided at a lower end portion of the mandrel and supports a bottom part of the rotating body in the floating state, and a fluid supply passage that supplies a fluid for floating between the mandrel and a rotation support hole of the rotating body, in which a space part is formed in at least either one of the mandrel and the rotation support hole for widening a space other than at a supporting portion.

Rotatably supporting device for correcting balance of rotating body

An arrangement for attenuating vibrations of blades attached to a peripheral surface of a rotor of an axial turbine. A through hole is formed in each rotor blade in a generally thickness direction of the blade so that the through holes in combination define a single annular passage near a rotor surface when all of the rotor blades are attached to the rotor. A wire is provided to extend through the aligned through holes. Thus, the wire frictionally contacts the through holes when the blades are caused to vibrate due to a gas pressure and a centrifugal force generated upon operation of the axial turbine. Friction contact between the wire and the through holes attenuates vibrations of the blades.

Vibration attenuation arrangement for rotor blades

A bearing is provided between a turbine shaft and a bearing box in a turbine or compressor housing, a first gap of a size sufficient to form an oil film is provided between the bearing and the bearing box, and a pair of second larger gaps is provided adjacent to the first gap on both ends of the first gap in a longitudinal direction of the turbine shaft. A pair of spring members each able to exert a predetermined spring force on the bearing is provided around the entire circumference in the second gaps respectively.

Turbo charger bearing construction

A supercharger thrust bearing for use in a machine rotatable at a high speed includes radial oil grooves formed in a pad surface. Gradients are formed at the outward radial ends of the oil supply grooves such that the groove depth sequentially diminishes as the outside in the radial direction is approached. The machine rotatable at a high speed is, for example, a boat or a ship. The lubricating oil inside the oil supply grooves is forced out by the gradients and creates a dam. The lubrication oil flowing in a circumferential direction on the pad surface, which is heated on the pad surface, is stopped by this dam and turned to a radially outward direction. The heated oil is pushed out from the pad surface and the new cold oil is caused to flow onto the pad surface from the radial grooves.

Supercharger thrust bearing

There is provided a structure for joining an impeller to a rotatable shaft, including (a) a bushing through which the impeller is joined to the rotatable shaft, the bushing including a hollow cylindrical portion which is to fit into a recess formed with the impeller and into which the rotatable shaft is to fit, (b) a first joint structure for joining the bushing to the impeller so that the bushing is positioned coaxially with the impeller, and (c) a second joint structure for joining the rotatable shaft to the bushing so that the rotatable shaft is positioned coaxially with the bushing. The structure provides a sufficient ability for transferring a torque between an impeller and a shaft, self-aligning performance between an impeller and a shaft, and good serviceability for assembling and disassembling, and further provides higher accuracy in axially positioning an impeller and a shaft and lower fabrication costs.

Structure for joining impeller to rotatable shaft

Resonance of a compressor impeller is prevented even when there are any pulsations in exhaust gas from an engine. An annular chamber in a diffuser defining wall of the compressor is connected with an outlet of a circulation passage for leading part of exhaust gas. An inner periphery of the chamber is communicated with the diffuser through an annular slit.

Exhaust gas recirculation system for a turbocharged engine

A compressor casing defines an air inlet port, an air intake passage with an impeller accommodated therein, a diffuser and a scroll all communicated with each other in the order named. An annually extending chamber is formed between the passage and the scroll and has an opening opened sideways of the impeller in the passage, enhancing an ability of discharging a surging-occuring range to a lower flow rage. The compressor casing may be divided into a casing main body and an inner casing so as to decrease fabrication cost of the compressor casing.

Compressor casing for turbocharger and assembly thereof

Nozzle shafts and a nozzle drive mechanism are disposed on the side of a bearing casing and a compressor whose temperatures are lower than that of a turbine, and elements slidable in the radial direction of the turbine wheel are eliminated from the nozzle drive mechanism so that any adverse effects due to oxidization at high temperatures and slide wear can be eliminated. Thus durability and reliability of the device can be improved.
