A touch panel assembly adapted to reduce electromagnetic interference is disclosed. An electronic display is provided within a housing for an instrument panel of a vehicle. A resistive touch panel includes first and second independently operable, seamless grid sections and touch input receivers placed adjacent to the grid sections. A first input/output device in electronic communication with the display and associated with the first grid section and a second input/output device in electronic communication with the display and associated with the second grid section extends through at least one electromagnetically shielded channel that extends from within said housing to outside of said housing.

Redundant resistive touch panel

A resistive touch panel assembly is disclosed. An optical stack located within a housing includes an electronic display layer adapted to display an image and a resistive touch panel. A number of touch input receivers are placed adjacent to a first and second independently operable, grid sections which are located adjacent to one another in a seamless fashion. A number of input/output devices are in communication with the optical stack and extend through a channel comprising shielding.

An electronic display assembly includes a display layer for displaying an image, a projected capacitive touch panel with touch input areas, each of which are independently operable and configured to receive touch input from a user. Input/output devices are electrically connected with the display layer touch panel. Software instructions, when executed, configure one or more processors to automatically begin utilizing a remaining operable input/output device if one of said input/output devices is rendered inoperable.

Redundant projected capacitive touch panel

A resistive touch panel assembly is disclosed. An optical stack located within a housing includes an electronic display layer adapted to display an image and a resistive touch panel. The touch panel includes a number of touch input receivers placed adjacent to a first and second independently operable, grid sections which are located adjacent to one another in a seamless fashion. A number of input/output devices are in communication with the optical stack and extend through a channel comprising shielding.

A projected capacitive touch panel is placed above an electronic display and the assembly is housed in a sealed gasket. The touch panel has at least two touch sensors and at least two receivers per touch sensor, each in communication with an input/output device and in communication with a series of receivers. The touch panel comprised of electronic circuits configured to minimize electromagnetic interference. The electronic display comprised of multiple layers configured to provide visibility in bright ambient conditions.

A resistive touch panel is placed above an electronic display and the assembly is housed in a sealed gasket. The resistive touch panel has at least two adjoining, seamless grid sections, each in communication with an input/output device. The resistive touch panel comprised of electronic circuits configured to minimize electromagnetic interference. The grid sections are surrounded by a series of receivers. The electronic display comprised of multiple layers configured to provide visibility in bright ambient conditions.

An electronic display assembly includes a first and second power source. A first power supply monitor is in electrical connection with the first power source and the electronic display and a second power supply monitor is in electrical connection with the second power source and the electronic display. An electronic display controller accepts control signals and is in electrical communication with the first and second power supply monitors. A multiplexer is in electrical connection with the first and second power supply monitors, the electronic display controller, and the electronic display.

Redundant power/control system for electronic displays

A system for powering and controlling a backlit electronic display where redundancy is used to provide two independent paths from a pair of power sources to the backlight. Further, two independent paths are also used from a pair of power sources to the electronic display. If any one of the paths were to fail or begin to degrade in performance, the system contains monitoring devices which can direct another path to be used by the system. Two separate control circuits for the electronic may be used so that either one may be used to control the electronic display if one were to fail. Two separate temperature sensors and luminance sensors may also be used to increase the durability of the system.

A system for powering and controlling an LED-backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) where redundancy is used to provide two independent paths from a pair of power supplies to the LED backlight. Further, two independent paths are also used from a pair of power supplies to the LCD. If any one of the paths were to fail or begin to degrade in performance, the system contains monitoring circuits which can direct another path to be used by the system. Two separate control circuits for the LCD may be used so that either one may be used to control the LCD if one were to fail. Two separate temperature sensors and luminance sensors may also be used to increase the durability of the system.
