A rotation support structure for an electric cylinder includes a motor attached to a housing and including an output shaft; and a speed reduction mechanism connected to the output shaft. The speed reduction mechanism includes a gear unit including a first gear and a shaft support portion and has an outer member facing an inner surface of the housing and a ball, and an annular second gear fixed to the housing and meshing with the first gear, one side end portion of the outer member faces the inner surface of the housing or a spacer attached to the housing, and the other side end portion faces the second gear. A gap is formed between the outer member and the second gear, and between the outer member and at least either the housing or the spacer. A gap is formed between the outer member and the inner surface of the housing.

A steering apparatus for a vehicle includes at least one of an electric telescopic mechanism driving a steering wheel provided at a steering shaft and an electric tilt mechanism driving the steering wheel. The one of the electric telescopic mechanism and the electric tilt mechanism includes an electric motor, a threaded shaft connected to an output shaft of the electric motor, and a speed reduction mechanism. The speed reduction mechanism includes a worm gear, a screw gear, an idle gear meshing with the screw gear and the worm gear. The output shaft and the threaded shaft are connected to each other such that at least one of a relationship of parallelism, a relationship of inclination and a relationship of skew is established.

Steering apparatus for vehicle

A steering device of a vehicle includes: a column housing supported on a vehicle body; a column tube supported to be movable in an axial direction with respect to the column housing and configured to accommodate a steering shaft; and a telescopic mechanism configured to drive the column tube with respect to the column housing in the axial direction. The column tube includes outer and inner tubes, and is configured to allow a relative movement of the outer tube with respect to the inner tube in the axial direction when a load equal to or larger than a predetermined value is applied to the steering shaft. The telescopic mechanism includes a holding member, and a driving mechanism, and is configured to drive the inner and outer tubes with respect to the column housing in the axial direction by the driving mechanism.

Steering device of vehicle

A lift-up mechanism is provided with a link member with one end thereof being supported rotatably on a movable bracket for holding a movable columnar member, and the other one end thereof being disposed to be engaged with and removed from a fixing bracket. The link member selectively provides a hold state for engaging the link member with the fixing bracket at a rear part of the vehicle body to hold the movable bracket at an initial position or a lift-up position, and a release state for releasing its engagement. A spring member is disposed between the fixing bracket and the movable bracket, with component forces of its biasing force biasing the movable bracket in a direction to be lifted up from the fixing bracket, and biasing the link member in a direction to be engaged with the fixing bracket.
