A vehicle lamp includes: an LED mount on which an LED is placed; an attachment that fixes the LED to the LED mount; a power supply that supplies power to the LED; a first optical member that controls light emitted from the LED; and a second optical member that controls light emitted from the first optical member. The power supply and the first optical member are provided at the attachment.

Vehicle lamp

A light emitting device is configured to achieve a white color by mixing light from respective phosphors. The light emitting device includes: a light emitting element for emitting ultraviolet or short-wavelength visible light having a peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 380 to 420 nm; a first phosphor excited by the ultraviolet or short-wavelength visible light to emit visible light having a peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 560 nm to 600 nm; a second phosphor excited by the ultraviolet or short-wavelength visible light to emit visible light having a complementary relationship with visible light emitted by the first phosphor; and a light transmitting member which is a light transmitting layer for covering the light emitting element, and has the first phosphor and the second phosphor dispersed therein.

Light emitting device

Lamp units for radiating a beam ahead of a vehicle in a light distribution pattern are housed in a lamp body. Illumination of the auxiliary lamp units is controlled based on driving conditions. Illumination control means extinguish light through dimming by gradually decreasing voltage applied to the light sources. When the applied voltage has dropped to a threshold value, the applied voltage is controlled to zero immediately. Compared to when the lamps remaining in an illuminated state are suddenly extinguished, a change in quantity of light is mild, and no uncertainty arises. Below a threshold value where the applied voltage gradually drops to the threshold value and a change may arise in the filament crystalline structure due to annealing at a transition temperature, the applied voltage approaches zero. Hence, the filament does not pass from the transition temperature while being rapidly cooled, thus avoiding filament crystalline structure change.

Vehicle headlamp system and dimming-type vehicle headlamp

A base end of an arc tube unit is inserted in a glass tube which is previously fixed to an insulating plug unit and a shroud tube and the glass tube are then bonded and fixed to each other in such a state that an amount of insertion of the arc tube unit is regulated in order to set a dimension L between an optical reference plane Po of the insulating plug unit and the tip position of a bar-shaped electrode B of an arc tube to be a predetermined set dimension Lo. Consequently, the arc tube unit can be fixed and supported on the insulating plug unit with a simple structure in a simple process, and furthermore, it is possible to eliminate a possibility that the shroud tube might be damaged, for example, broken by the fastening force of a metal band as in the conventional art.
