According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a scanning device, and a controller. The image forming device forms a first test image and forms a second test image. The scanning device scans the first test image with a first amount of emitted light corresponding to a first input value and scans the second test image with a second amount of emitted light corresponding to a second input value. The controller selectively executes any one of a first correction process, a second correction process, or a third correction process on the basis of an event change.

A decoloring apparatus includes a sheet conveying unit, a scanner, a decoloring unit, and a controller. The decoloring unit decolors the image on the sheet conveyed through the sheet conveying unit. The decoloring unit is positioned downstream of the scanner in a sheet conveying direction. A distance along the sheet conveying direction between the scanner and the decoloring unit is shorter than a length of a first predetermined sheet size and longer than a length of a second predetermined sheet size. According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, an environmental sensor, a waste toner collection container, a paddle motor, a storage unit, and a control unit. The image forming unit is configured to forma toner image on a sheet using a toner that is replenished from a toner cartridge containing the toner. The environmental sensor is configured to acquire information regarding an environment around the image forming unit. The waste toner collection container is configured to contain a waste toner produced in the image forming unit. The paddle motor is configured to rotate a stirring paddle provided in the waste toner collection container. The storage unit is configured to store a correction factor corresponding to the information regarding the environment acquired by the environmental sensor. The control unit is configured to acquire a count value as a value relating to a replenishment amount when the toner is replenished from the toner cartridge to the image forming unit. The control unit is configured to correct the count value with the correction factor corresponding to the information regarding the environment. The control unit is configured to update a cumulative count value with the corrected count value. The control unit is configured to drive the paddle motor according to the updated cumulative count value.

A fixing unit includes a heater, a fixing member, a press roller, a sensor, a processor, and a memory. The fixing member is heated by heat generated by the heater. The press roller forms a nip portion through which a medium having a fixing target material transferred thereto passes, between the press roller and the fixing member. The sensor measures a temperature of the fixing member. The processor controls the temperature of the fixing member so as to be a target value by acquiring the temperature detected by the sensor in a first period, and also acquires the temperature detected by the sensor in a second period shorter than the first period. The memory records the temperature acquired in the second period.

An image forming apparatus of an embodiment includes an image forming unit, a waste toner collection container, a paddle motor, a memory unit, and a control unit. The image forming unit forms a toner image on a sheet using a toner replenished from a toner cartridge containing the toner. The waste toner collection container contains a waste toner generated in the image forming unit. The paddle motor rotates a stirring paddle provided in the waste toner collection container. The memory unit stores a coefficient for each type of toner. The control unit acquires a count value, which is a value related to a replenishment amount, corrects the count value with the coefficient corresponding to the type of toner, updates a cumulative count value with the corrected count value, and drives the paddle motor according to the updated cumulative count value.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum, an exposure unit, a development unit, a toner supply motor, and a processor. The exposure unit exposes the photosensitive drum based on image data. The development unit forms a toner image on the photosensitive drum with toner supplied from a toner cartridge. The toner supply motor supplies the toner to the development unit from the toner cartridge. The processor calculates a remaining toner amount in the toner cartridge based on a preset standard supply ratio, a driving time of the toner supply motor, and a toner supply ratio which is calculated based on a pixel count value of the image data and the driving time of the toner supply motor.
