Provided is a vehicular control device that is provided with a switching circuit, and for opening/closing a connection between a starter including a capacitor that is to be connected to one end portion of the switching circuit and an in-vehicle battery that is to be connected to another end portion of the switching circuit by controlling an on/off state of the switching circuit. The control device includes a voltage detection unit configured to detect a voltage of the one end portion, and a control unit configured to control the switching circuit to turn off from on, and determine whether there is a failure in the switching circuit, based on a voltage detected by the voltage detection unit when a predetermined time has elapsed from when the switching circuit is controlled to turn off from on.

Control device and failure determination method for determining a failure in a switching circuit

A control circuit controls power supplied via an electrical wire, by turning a FET provided on the electrical wire on/off. A control unit calculates the temperature difference between the ambient temperature of the electrical wire and the electrical wire temperature in time series, based on a previous temperature difference between the ambient temperature of the electrical wireand the electrical wire temperature that was calculated previously, and the value of current flowing through the electrical wire. The control unit is configured to suspend this time-series calculation of the temperature difference, and clocks the elapsed time from suspension to resumption of calculation of the temperature difference. The control unit, in the case where calculation of the temperature difference is resumed, sets an initial temperature difference to be used as the previous temperature difference, based on the clocked elapsed time, in an initial calculation of the temperature difference after resumption.

Power supply control apparatus

Provided is a control system that can appropriately determine whether or not supply of power to a load is abnormal, and can specify a detailed reason of the abnormality. A control circuit supplies power to a load and shuts off the supply of power in accordance with a power supply/shutoff instruction to supply or shut off power from a battery to the load. The power supply/shutoff instruction is output from a microcomputer to the control circuit. A control unit determines whether or not the supply of power from the battery to the load is abnormal, based on (i) whether the power supply/shutoff instruction output from the output unit is to supply power or shut off the supply of power, (ii) the value of a current flowing from the battery to the load, and (iii) the value of a voltage applied to the load, and specifies a reason of the abnormality.

Control system

A control device that can realize low power consumption even if the temperature of a wire is erroneously calculated. A control unit calculates, for each of one or more wires, a temperature difference between an ambient temperature of the wire and a temperature of the wire over time, and supplies/interrupts an electric current that flows through the wire. The control unit interrupts, for each of the wires, the electric current if the temperature sum of the calculated temperature difference and the ambient temperature is greater than or equal to a first threshold. The control unit measures a time period in which the electric current is being interrupted. If, for each of the wires the calculated temperature difference is less than a second threshold or the measure time period exceeds a predetermined time period, the control unit halts the calculation of the temperature of the wires.
