The disclosed technology is directed to an ultrasonic probe comprises a probe main portion configured to transmit ultrasonic vibration generated by an ultrasonic transducer. A treatment portion is configured on a distal side of the probe main portion along a longitudinal axis thereof. The treatment portion includes first direction surfaces disposed in a first direction intersecting the longitudinal axis and second direction surfaces that are adjacent to the first direction surfaces and are disposed in a second direction different from the first direction surfaces. The first direction surfaces further includes a plurality of surfaces formed into a staircase shape when being viewed from the treatment portion and one or more surfaces formed into a staircase shape when being viewed from a side opposed to the distal side of the treatment portion. The second direction surfaces further includes a plurality of surfaces formed into a staircase shape toward the distal side.

Ultrasonic probe, ultrasonic treatment instrument, and ultrasonic treatment assembly

An ultrasonic vibration transmittable probe includes a probe body configured to transmit ultrasonic vibration generated by an ultrasonic transducer. A treatment section is provided on a distal end side of the probe body along its longitudinal axis and is configured to cut a treatment object with the ultrasonic vibration. The treatment section includes first to third cutting surfaces disposed at progressively proximal positions. A portion of the first cutting surface has a dimension along a first orthogonal direction orthogonal to the longitudinal axis that is smaller than a dimension of the second cutting surface along the first orthogonal direction.

Surgical procedure of knee joint

An ultrasound probe includes a probe body, and a treatment unit. The treatment unit includes: a cutter that is provided at a distal end part of the treatment unit and that cuts the bone according to move of the treatment unit along a longitudinal axis in a state where ultrasonic vibration is being transmitted to the probe body; and a path that is provided in the treatment unit and through which debris of a bone that is cut by the cutter are discharged along the longitudinal axis toward a proximal end side with respect to the cutter. The path includes a first opening that is provided in a distal end surface of the cutter; and a second opening that is provided in a side surface part of the treatment unit, wherein the path allows the first opening and the second opening to communicate.

Ultrasound oscillation can be propagated to a distal end of an elongated probe. A cross-sectional surface of the probe is perpendicular to the length of the probe, and has to the same shape as a shape of a cross-sectional surface of an anchor. The probe is configured to forma bottomed hole in a bone for placing the anchor and the shape of its cross-sectional surface can prevent rotation of the anchor in the bottomed hole. An area of the cross-sectional surface of the probe at the distal end can be larger than an area of a cross-sectional surface of the probe at a proximal end. The distal end of the probe includes a treatment portion that extends outward from a center of the proximal end of the probe in a first direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and in a second direction different from the first direction.

Ultrasound device and ultrasound device system used for anchor fixation and anchor fixation method using ultrasound device

A method of performing a procedure on a meniscus, via an ultrasonic surgical tool. The ultrasonic tool includes a probe capable of transmitting ultrasonic vibration from a proximal end toward a front end. The probe includes a bent portion that is inclined with respect to a longitudinal axis of the probe, and a procedure portion that is disposed at the front end of the probe and has a plurality of cutting surfaces. The method includes: inserting the probe in a body; moving the probe through a space in between the femur and the tibia to position the procedure portion adjacent to the horizontal rupture in the meniscus; positioning a cutting surface of the procedure portion on a posterior portion of the meniscus; and resecting the horizontal rupture along an inclination of the meniscus to form an inclined resection plane.

Ultrasonic probe

An ultrasonic probe includes a treatment portion that has a through-hole or concave portions. The through-hole extends from a first outer surface to a second outer surface facing in an opposite direction to that of the first outer surface. The concave portions include a first concave portion on the first outer surface, and a second concave portion on the second outer surface. The treatment portion includes a blade formed along an edge of an opening of the through-hole or the first concave portion. An outer relay surface extends from the blade to the second outer surface and faces away from a center axis of the through-hole or the concave portions. A distance from the center axis to the blade is greater than or equal to a distance from the center axis to the outer relay surface at a position between the blade and the second outer surface.

Surgical device

An ultrasound device includes: an ultrasound generator; an ultrasound probe; and a distal end treatment portion capable of forming a bone hole when pressed against a bone. The distal end treatment portion includes a base portion, and a distal end portion. The distal end portion includes projections and a valley portion between adjacent projections. Each projection is formed of at least one excision surface that is inclined from a base of the projection to a distal top of the projection. The excision surface is capable of finely crushing the bone. The valley portion includes a valley peak at a distal-most meeting point of adjacent projections such that a surface of the valley extending distally from a point at which the valley meets an outer surface of the base portion to the valley peak is inclined.

An endoscopic treatment instrument includes a guide sheath. The guide sheath includes a second distal end, which has an inside diameter to insert the insertion portion therethrough so that the distal end of the insertion portion is configured to protrude relative to the second distal end. The guide sheath is inserted through the guide pipe so that the second distal end is configured to protrude relative to the first distal end of the guide pipe.

Endoscopic treatment instrument, treatment instrument unit, and treatment system

In an arthroendoscopical surgical method, a resection target area, and a freshening treatment area which becomes repair surfaces with bleeding, are identified, and a resection line and a freshening line are drawn on a tear site in a meniscus, which is emphasized by fluorescence with use of a fluorescent medicine under excitation light. Using an ultrasonic treatment tool and an arthroscope, the resection target area is resected by a probe which generates ultrasonic vibrations, based on the resection line and freshening line under visible-light illumination. Thus, an inclined resection surface is formed, and planar repair surfaces with bleeding are joined and repaired.

Arthroendoscopical surgical method using ultrasonic treatment tool

An arthroscopical surgical method using an ultrasonic treatment device for a joint includes: transmitting ultrasonic vibration to a treatment portion of the ultrasonic treatment device, removing an injured region of an articular cartilage so that a subchondral bone is exposed, and forming a cartilage edge which is nearly angled at 90&#xb0; with the exposed surface of the subchondral bone to form a pool-shaped depression; forming a hole which pierces up to a cancellous bone of the subchondral bone through the depression, and scratching blood vessels in the cancellous bone; causing bleeding from the blood vessels so that blood is retained in the depression via the hole.

Arthroendoscopical surgical method

In an arthroendoscopical surgical method, a resection target area, which is emphasized by fluorescence with use of a fluorescent agent under excitation light, is identified on a meniscus, and a resection line or an imaginary resection line is drawn. Using an ultrasonic treatment tool and an arthroscope, the resection target area is resected by a probe which generates ultrasonic vibrations, based on the resection line or imaginary resection line under visible-light illumination, and an inclined resection surface is formed.
