A borosilicate glass for a pharmaceutical container includes SiO, AlO, BO, and RO (R is one or more kinds selected from Li, Na, and K) as essential components, in which a content of CaO is equal to or greater than 0 and smaller than 0.5 mol %, a value of (NaO+KO+LiO&#x2014;AlO)/BOis 0.315 to 0.350 in terms of a molar ratio, and BaO is not substantially included.

Borosilicate glass for pharmaceutical container

A glass for pharmaceutical containers, which is resistant to delamination and has excellent processibility, is provided. The glass for pharmaceutical containers comprises, in mol % on an oxide basis, 69 to 81% of SiO, 4 to 12% of AlO, 0 to 5% of BO, to 20% of LiO+NaO+KO, 0.1 to 12% of LiO, and 0 to 10% of MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO. The glass has a hydrolytic resistance of Class 1 in a test in accordance with the European pharmacopoeia.

Glass for pharmaceutical containers

A borosilicate glass for a pharmaceutical container having high appearance quality, particularly a small number of air lines, and a glass tube for a pharmaceutical container are provided. The borosilicate glass for a pharmaceutical container contains, in mass %, from 70.0 to 78.0% of SiO, from 5.0 to 8.0% of AlO, from 5.0 to 12.0% of BO, from 0 to 4.0% of CaO, from 0 to 4.0% of BaO, from 4.0 to 8.0% of NaO, from 0 to 5.0% of KO and from 0.001 to 1.0% of SnO.

Borosilicate glass for pharmaceutical container and glass tube for pharmaceutical container

To devise a tempered glass and a glass to be tempered each of which is lowered in density and viscosity at high temperature, hardly deteriorates a KNOmolten salt, and is excellent in thermal shock resistance. The tempered glass having a compression stress layer in a surface thereof, including as a glass composition, in terms of mol %, 50 to 80% of SiO, 5 to 30% of AlO, 0 to 2% of LiO, 5 to 25% of NaO, and 0 to 5% of KO, and being substantially free of AsO, SbO, PbO, and F.

Strengthened glass, strengthened glass plate, strengthened glass container, and glass for strengthening

Provided is a radiation-shielding glass, including a glass composition in % by mass of 10 to 35% SiO, 55 to 80% PbO, 0 to 10% BO, 0 to 10% AlO, 0 to 10% SrO, 0 to 10% BaO, 0 to 10% NaO, and 0 to 10% KO, in which the radiation-shielding glass has a total light transmission at a wavelength of 400 nm at a thickness of 10 mm of 50% or higher. Also provided is a radiation-shielding glass which has the similar glass composition and can be used for a gamma-ray shielding glass for a PET examination.
