In one example, a Bluetooth enabled navigation device pairs with a mobile phone and then sends a plurality of tuning transmissions, each at a different transmission power gain amount, to a remote server using the mobile phone. These tuning transmissions are encoded using frequency tones that synthesize speech for transmission through the mobile phone and a voice channel of its wireless telecommunications network. The navigation device then tunes transmit power settings according to a received response to the tuning transmissions and uses the tuned transmit power settings for subsequent transmission to the remote server using this particular mobile phone.

The present invention provides a color code tool identification method for the instant determination of the size of various types of hand tools and small cutting tools such as drill bits. A color chart is provided showing a range of ten colors. Each color indicates a particular numeral. The sequence of the indicated numerals providing a size designation for the tool. The method provides fractional inch size determination and also metric size determination. The method may be used alone or in conjunction with conventional marking methods.

There is provided a portable refrigerating unit to be used for chilling beverages, the same having an outer shell insulated on the inside and an inner shell for holding a beverage container in close fitting relationship therewith. The inner shell is fabricated of a highly thermoconductive material, such as aluminum. The close fitting relationship with the beverage container allows an efficient conductive heat transfer when the outer surface of the inner shell is subjected to an evaporating refrigerant gas directed thereon by an evaporator tube that is mounted between the outer and inner shells. Refrigerant gas is supplied to the evaporator tube by a disposable pressurized refrigerant gas container. An ejector is provided for ejecting the beverage container after chilling.

Airport landing indicator apparatus designed basically for remote airports and landing fields including means responsive to wind direction and a pair of runway locators, in the form of lighted directional arrows, located at opposing ends of a runway. Wind direction determines which of the arrows will be lit for maximum safety in landing. Each of the runway locators includes a multiplicity of high intensity lamps forming an outline of a first arrow and a multiplicity of low intensity lamps contained within the confines of the high intensity lamps forming a second arrow. All lamps of a particular runway locator may be turned on by radio control from an approaching aircraft. The high intensity lamps, necessary for long distance observation, are automatically turned off by means of a photoelectric cell actuated by landing lights of the approaching aircraft to prevent temporary blindness. The apparatus may also contain a lighted specific wind direction indicator and a wind velocity indicator.
