A system for privacy management of customer data is provided. The system includes a data store, a plurality of applications, a central broker and a distributed component. The data store maintains customer privacy data used by the applications. The central broker provides the applications with customer data and manages the customer privacy data according to a set of rules regarding access to the customer privacy data. The distributed component is distributed from the central broker and is operable to communicate with the central broker to obtain at least some of the customer data. The distributed component provides at least some of the customer privacy data to the applications according to the set of rules regarding access to the customer privacy data.

Customer data privacy implementation

A system for customer data privacy management is provided. The system includes a data store having customer data and privacy rules associated with the customer data, a rules engine that limits access to the customer data, an application to provide a service related to the customer data, and an interface in communication with the application and the rules engine. The rules engine promotes limiting access to customer data based on the service of the application and the privacy rules associated with the customer data. The customer data includes mobile location information and positioning information. The service of the application may be further defined as a mobile location service. The customer data includes a buddy list and one or more of the privacy rules can be associated with the buddy list to limit access by one or more applications to the buddy list.

The present invention relates to a computer framework and method for a business component to retrieve data from a backend datastore using object technology. The invention discloses a method for isolating a business component from specific implementations of a datastore, including the steps of supplying a database wrapper; using the database wrapper to begin a database session; supplying a domain object factory; using the domain object factory to create a domain object; converting the domain object from a persistent state to a transient state; ending the database session; and returning the domain object to the business component. The present invention discloses a method for enumerating data pages in a stateless, distributed computing environment. A user operating a uses interface calls a stateless application, which in turn invokes a stateful data structure to retrieve data from a datastore. Stateful data residing within the stateful data structure is converted to stateless data, and a display page comprising stateless data is returned to the user. Preferably, the stateless application and the stateful data structures are Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) compliant session beans. In a preferred embodiment, a servlet generates the display page by retrieving the stateless data from the stateful session bean, the display page is returned to the user interface via a communication framework, and data is retrieved from the datastore via a persistence framework.

Method for enumerating data pages in a stateless, distributed computing environment

The present invention discloses a message logging framework comprising a log object created by a destination log class extending a log base class and the log base class implementing a log interface. The log base class comprises a method for formatting a message and the destination log class comprises a method to log the formatted message to a destination log. In a preferred embodiment, the log base class further comprises a method for filtering the message by comparing a severity attribute of the message to a filter severity criterion. The present invention also discloses a message logging framework comprising a group log object created by a group log class extending a log collection class and implementing a log interface. The group log class comprises a method to log the message to a plurality of destination logs. The present invention further discloses a method for logging a message comprising forming a destination log object by a destination log class extending a log base class and the log base class implementing a log interface. A message is formatted, and the formatted message is logged to a destination log via the destination log object. In a preferred embodiment, the logging method further comprises filtering the message by comparing a severity attribute of the message to a filter severity criterion. The present invention also discloses a method for logging a message comprising forming a group log object by a group log class extending a log collection class and implementing a log interface. The message is logged to a plurality of destination logs via the group log object.
