A child apparatus can include one or more shells/frames upon which a child can sit or lie. All or a portion of each shell/frame can be covered in soft goods. The soft goods component can include one or more channels or tunnels provided along all or a portion of a perimeter of the soft goods component. One or more stiffening members can be inserted into the one or more channels or tunnels. The shell/frame can include one or more cavities for receiving a portion of the stiffening member therein to couple the soft goods component to the shell/frame. Alternatively, the shell/frame can include soft goods retaining tabs along a back or side of the shell/frame, and the elongated stiffening member can be inserted between each soft goods retaining tab and the back or side of the shell/frame.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for attaching soft goods to a child's apparatus

A seat pad assembly is disclosed including a body pad for placement on the seating surface of a child seating device. The body pad has a front side, a back side, and two spaced apart vertical slots through the pad. The seat pad assembly has a head support with a connecting strip extending between a pair of laterally spaced apart cushions. The head support is generally H-shaped and installed on the pad through the slots with the pair of cushions on one side of the pad and the connecting strip on the other side. The head support is slidable along the slots to adjust the vertical position of the cushions. The seat pad assembly can be used on a child seating device such as a children's car seat, an infant carrier, a stroller, an infant swing, or the like.

A cover for a child seat in the form of a pad with slots through the pad that facilitate simple removal and reinstallation of the cover. Some of the slots accommodate the seat safety harness and merge with side slots that are held closed by mating separable fastening elements. The side slots extend at least partially along the junction between the backrest portion and the side bolster portions of the pad. A pair of back slots extend from respective strap anchoring locations in the backrest region to respective side slots. A release slot may be included at each side of the pad, extending from the respective side slot to the adjacent outer side edge of the pad&#x2014;this being especially useful with three-point harness seats. A five-point harness version has a pair of lap strap slots through the pad to accommodate the lap straps of the harness. The lap straps slots extend outwardly to the adjacent side slots. Adding release slots as described gives this latter cover universal application.
