A method and system of providing guidance and information to an end-user during an emergency situation. A network of beacon devices is arranged throughout different rooms of a physical structure, such as a house. When an emergency situation such as a fire is detected, for example via data collected from one or more smart sensors installed in the house, a navigation server can activate the beacon device network. Each beacon device will begin to provide navigation cues such as audio content and/or light display that guide the end-user to the nearest designated exit.

Authentication methods and systems using RFID-enabled payment cards are disclosed herein where a server receives a request corresponding to authorization of a payment associated with a payment card from an electronic terminal. A system and method for automatically detecting if a home alarm system is being used and/or actively monitored are disclosed. The system and method use data gathered from one or more sensors, including audio information from microphones. The audio information is analyzed using a machine learning system to determine if the alarm system is being regularly used and monitored. The system and method can also automatically update a policy holder's insurance policy to reflect whether or not an alarm system is being used.
