A microphone can include a capacitor capsule, an output buffer amplifier connected to the output of the capacitor capsule, and an audio limiter connected to the output of the output buffer amplifier, wherein the audio limiter limits the output level of the microphone at a threshold level. The microphone can include an adjustable output level. The microphone can include an integrated high-pass filter. The microphone can have an omnidirectional polar pattern.

Omnidirectional button-style microphone

A gamma radiation detecting apparatus includes a gamma radiation collimator, a scintillation crystal, a charge coupled device, and an electronic device. The collimator receives and collimates gamma radiation. The scintillation crystal receives the gamma radiation from the gamma radiation collimator and converts the gamma radiation into visible light. The charge coupled device receives the visible light from the scintillation crystal and converts the visible light into an electrical charge. The electronic device converts the electrical charge into a digital image.

Gamma camera system

A microphone circuit includes a capacitor capsule and first and second impedance converters connected differentially to the capacitor capsule. The microphone circuit includes first and second output buffer amplifiers connected differentially to the first and second impedance converters.

Fully differential low-noise capacitor microphone circuit

A microphone system includes a microphone and a control device external to the microphone. The microphone includes at least two capacitor capsules or one dual-sided capsule. The control device is capable of varying the polar pattern of the microphone over a two-conductor shielded cable or wirelessly. A wireless microphone having a split-band audio frequency companding system is disclosed. The companding system includes a compression circuit in which one amplification element is utilized in connection with a number of frequency bands. Each frequency band has a rectifier and filter element associated therewith. High-pass filter elements are utilized in the higher frequency bands of the compression and expander circuits to reduce the transfer of low-frequency signals to the rectifier elements that process the low-frequency signals, thereby reducing undesirable modulations of a variable resistance element associated therewith.

An audio surround-sound system includes a main enclosure, an audio decoder device to decode audio source signals supplied by an audio source device to provide decoded audio signals, and at least a first and second low distortion amplifier housed within the main enclosure to receive and amplify the decoded audio signals. Also included is at least a first and a second speaker element operatively coupled to the at least first and second amplifiers, respectively, to produce the audible signals, where the audible signals are received by the listener from a first and second direction. A local radio transmitter converts a portion of the decoded audio signals into radio modulated signals and transmits the radio modulated signals where a wireless receiver receives and converts the radio modulated signals into remote audio source signals. A third speaker element produces audible signals to be received by the listener from a third direction, where the third speaker element is operatively coupled to a third low distortion amplifier. The third low distortion amplifier receives and amplifies the remote audio source signals, where the third low distortion amplifier, the wireless receiver and the third speaker element are remotely located from the main enclosure. The audible signals received by the listener from the first, second, and third directions operatively surround the listener with the audible signals.

Low distortion amplifier

An audio input circuit for providing a transducer output signal from a sound transducer to the input of a host device including a universal interface for coupling the transducer output signal to the host device. The universal interface includes a first signal input, a second signal input, a first output conductor, and a second output conductor. Additionally, the audio input circuit includes a switch mechanism coupled between the first and second signal input and between the first and second output conductors for selectively isolating the first output conductor from the second output conductor and for selectively coupling the first output conductor to the second output conductor. The audio input circuit conditions the output of an inexpensive microphone such that the output response of the microphone is ideally suited to the input requirements of the voice recognition host device.
