Method of making components for an electrochemical cell and an electrochemical cell and cell stack

A housing assembly and a method of manufacturing the housing assembly. The housing assembly includes a trap portion and a heat transfer portion. A first plate member of the heat transfer portion has one or more first and second flanges having a length Land L. A second plate member of the heat transfer portion has one or more first and second flanges having a length Land Lthat are larger than the lengths Land L. At least a portion of the one or more first and second flanges of the first plate member are integrally connected to at least a portion of said one or more first and second flanges of said second plate member. Additionally, at least a portion of the one or more first and second flanges of the second plate member are overmoulded within the tray portion of the housing assembly.

Housing assembly for one or more electro chemical cells

A gasket is provided with two dissimilar materials. The two different materials are used to provide different sealing characteristics. In one embodiment, the different sealing materials join to create the same or a similar profile to the profile of the individual materials. In another embodiment, the different sealing materials have the same profile but have joining portions that are complementary to one another where the two materials are joined to one another.
