A dispensing closure (A,B) for a fluent substance-containing system, such as a container, includes a body (A,B) for receiving the fluent substance from the system, and a pivotable actuator (A,B) assembled with the body (A,B). The actuator (A,B) has a back region () opposite its outlet end () and having a central cam element (A,B) for frictionally engaging the closure body (A,B) to maintain the actuator in an open, dispensing position. The actuator back region () further includes at least one rib (A,B) located adjacent to the central cam (A,B) to resist movement of the actuator (A,B) into the open, dispensing position. The rib (A,B) has an initial configuration and a permanently deformed configuration after movement of the actuator (A,B) into the open, dispensing position.

Dispensing closure

A dispensing system () includes a body () having an outer wall () defining a volume for storing a substance, the outer wall () having a top end () and a sealed bottom end (). The top end () is covered by a flexible lid () that is attached to the body (). The lid () has a press portion () for being engaged to move the lid () from a first position into a second, deflected position. A post () is connected to the lid () and is configured in the second position of the lid () to breach the sealed bottom end () forming a dispensing orifice () to accommodate movement of a substance out of the body (). In one form, the outer wall () includes at least one bottle stop projection () defining one or more vent channels ().

Dispensing system

A system, equipment and process to guide a user in the experience of rhythmic exercise. Playback of an audio file/signal, such as a musical phrase, that has known rhythmic structure (e.g., beat pattern) is accompanied, by non-audio sensory cues such as a light signal or tactical signal (vibration) to mark rhythmic events in the audio playback (such as the beginning and end of playback and/or audio pulses (beats). In addition, equipment is provided to guide the user in performing a GDM (goal directed movement) sequence that is selected to be performed in synch with the rhythm of the audio signal. The user's motion is detected and compared to desired GDM in the selected sequence and also compared to the rhythm of the audio signal. Sensory cues are provided to guide the user in performing the GDM sequence rhythmically. The system may be implemented in cardio fitness equipment including treadmill, AMT, stationary exercise bike and elliptical type exercise equipment.

Closure

A tamper-evident closure () is provided for a container. In one particular embodiment, the closure () has a body () and a hinged lid (), and has the following additional features as next described. A tamper-indicating tab () is connected to the lid () by a frangible junction (). A pressing member () is connected to the closure body () for movement from an initial unactuated configuration and to an inwardly deformed, actuated configuration. A post () is provided on either the pressing member () or tab (), and a slot () is defined in the other of the pressing member () and tab (), wherein the slot () non-releasably receives the post () when the lid () is first closed. The closure body () also has an inwardly located retention wall () defining an aperture (). When the pressing member () is pressed inwardly, the frangible junction () is broken to allow the lid () to be lifted, and an end portion of the post () is non-releasably received in the retention wall aperture ().

Closure with tamper-evident feature

A carrier ring assembly is provided for use with a closure for a container. The carrier ring assembly includes a carrier ring and a valve. The carrier ring includes a retention bead and a retention space. The valve is located at least partially within the carrier ring and has a retention portion positioned within the retention space.

Valve carrier ring assembly

There is disclosed a closure comprised of a valve, a base unit and an upper unit. The base unit has a base surface with a peripheral skirt. The base surface has an aperture with a cylindrical section extending above and below the base surface. The cylindrical section has an aperture therethrough. The upper unit has an upper surface and an aperture adapted to align with the aperture of the cylindrical section of said base unit. The upper unit has a lid to cover the apertures in the base unit cylindrical section and the upper unit. A lid inner top surface has two projecting seals, one to maintain the valve closed when the lid is closed and the other to provide a seal when the lid is closed. and a latch mechanism attaches the base unit to the upper unit. A preferred latch mechanism comprises a projection and an interfitting recess, one being on the base section and the other on the upper section. The lid top surface preferably has an essential horizontal top surface. In a preferred embodiment the valve is a polymeric valve located in the aperture between the base unit and the upper unit and held in place by contact with both the base unit and the upper unit. The rheology of the product in the container and the characteristics of the valve are coordinated so that the product will be fully contained by the valve regardless of the orientation of the container, including being inverted.

A dispensing system includes a body having a base for extending from a container, and a support column projecting from the base. A discharge passage extends through the body and support column. A flexible, pressure-openable dispensing valve has a skirt mounted on the support column and has an outwardly extending, narrowing head defining a dispensing orifice at the distal end. A clamp member fits around the valve skirt and is engaged with the body to hold the body, valve, and clamp member together.

A dispenser is provided for dispensing tablets. The dispenser generally includes a housing and a compartment. The compartment is pivotable with respect to the housing between a dispensing position and a non-dispensing position. The dispenser may also include a biasing member to bias the compartment to the non-dispensing position and a rib to resist accidental pivoting of the compartment.
