Fluorinated photoinitiators and polymerizable compositions including such fluorinated photoinitiators and at least one free-radically polymerizable monomer, oligomer, or mixture thereof. Multilayer films including a substrate and at least a first layer overlaying a surface of the substrate also are described, in which the at least first layer includes a (co)polymer obtained by polymerizing the foregoing polymerizable compositions. Processes for making a multilayer film using the polymerizable composition also are taught. Articles including the multilayer film also are disclosed, in which the article preferably is selected from a photovoltaic device, a display device, a solid-state lighting device, a sensor, a medical or biological diagnostic device, an electrochromic device, light control device, or a combination thereof.

Fluorinated photoinitiators and fluorinated (co)polymer layers made using the same

Adhesive composition and articles are described comprising a carrier substrate (e.g. release liner or backing) and an adhesive composition disposed on the carrier substrate. The adhesive composition comprises at least 20 wt. % of a polymer; unpolymerized cyclic olefin; and a (e.g. latent) ring opening metathesis polymerization catalyst or precatalyst thereof. The polymer may have a Tg less than 25° C. and/or may be an acrylic polymer. Also described is a method of bonding.

A curable composition comprising: a hydroxy-functional or ether-functional (meth)acrylate copolymer, an epoxy resin; water; a photocatalyst, and optionally a polyvinyl acetal polymer and/or a film-forming polymer. When cured, provides structural bonding adhesives that are curable under high humidity conditions.

Acrylic-epoxy adhesive composition

Curable ink compositions include a curable aromatic monomer composition, and surface treated metal oxide nanoparticles. The surface treated metal oxide nanoparticles are surface treated with a mixture of at least two silane-functional surface treatment agents, at least one aromatic-containing silane-functional surface treatment agent and at least one silane-functional surface treatment agent comprising a co-polymerizable group. The curable ink composition is inkjet printable, having a viscosity of 30 centipoise or less at a temperature of from room temperature to 60&#xb0; C., and is free from solvents. The curable ink composition, when printed and cured, has a refractive index of 1.55 or greater, and is optically clear.

Curable high refractive index ink compositions and articles prepared from the ink compositions

A curable mixture, a partially cured composition, a cured composition, an article containing either the partially cured composition or the cured composition, and a method of bonding two substrates are provided. The partially cured composition functions as a pressure-sensitive adhesive while the cured composition functions as a structural or semi-structural adhesive. The curable mixture can be applied to a first substrate by printing or dispensing, if desired.

Printable curable mixtures and cured compositions

Curable ink compositions include at least one aromatic (meth)acrylate, at least one multifunctional (meth)acrylate with heteroaromatic groups, fused aromatic groups, heteroalkylene groups, or a group containing both heteroalkylene and aromatic groups, and a photoinitiator. The curable ink composition is Inkjet printable, having a viscosity of 30 centipoise or less at a temperature of from room temperature to 35&#xb0; C., and is free from solvents. The ink composition, when printed and cured has a refractive index of 1.55 or greater, and is optically clear. The cured ink composition, when cured to a thickness of from 1-16 micrometers, has a surface roughness of less than or equal to 5 nanometers.

A class of antioxidant compositions include benzotriazole phenolate salts with substituents either ortho to the phenol hydroxide group and/or para to the phenol hydroxide group can be prepared from substituted benzotriazole phenols. The ortho substituent group can be a simple hydrocarbon, alkoxy or amino group, or the ortho substituent group can be a linking group, linking the benzotriazole phenolate to another benzotriazole phenolate group.

Polymeric compositions include at least one polymer that is free of ester linkages and an additive that is a benzotriazole phenolate salt with substituents either ortho to the phenol hydroxide group and/or para to the phenol hydroxide group. Electret webs include a thermoplastic resin and a charge-enhancing additive. The charge-enhancing additive is a substituted benzotriazole phenolate salt or a combination of substituted benzotriazole phenolate salts. The electret webs may be a non-woven fibrous web or a film. The electret webs are suitable for use as filter media.
