The present invention realizes a reliable heat pump apparatus and heat pump apparatus having high recovering efficiency. The heat pump apparatus includes an expanderfor expanding working fluid, a permanent magnet type synchronization power generatorwhich is disposed for recovering power by the expanderand which generates three phase AC power, and a first converterwhich converts the AC power to DC power, and which rotates the power generatorat a predetermined target number of revolutions by switching of a switching element group. The generated electricity is consumed by connection of an AC power supplyto a DC power line which is rectified and smoothened by a rectifier circuitand a smoothing capacitor, and by driving of an electric motorwhich rotates a compressorthrough a motor drive apparatus, and the power is efficiently recovered.

A current sensor for detecting a power supply current is commonly used for detecting a current of a stator winding to detect a rotational position of a magnet rotor, so that a sinusoidal driving is realized without adding two current sensors for detection of a phase current, and also a phase shift circuit and a comparator needed in the conventional 120-degree current feeding are not required, and the number of components can be reduced. The invention provides an motor drive apparatus comprising a detector for detecting a terminal voltage in a non-energized phase and a detector for detecting a DC voltage applied to the main line of an inverter. The rotation of the brushless motor is controlled by specifying the inverter circulating current period from the terminal voltage and the DC voltage and calculating the magnetic pole position of the rotor from the terminal voltage after the end of the inverter circulating current period and a waveform of the terminal voltage predetermined from the characteristics of the brushless motor. As a result, the brushless motor can be rotated stably throughout a wide revolution range from low to high speeds.

Apparatus and method for driving a brushless motor

A compressor driving apparatus comprises a module including a power supply, an inverter for driving a compressor, an inverter driver for driving the inverter, a CPU for generating a signal to be used for driving the inverter and having a function for communicating with outside, a storage circuit for storing data which is alterable from an external device, and a relay driver for driving an external relay. The inverter and other circuit components are disposed within the module such that they are thermally separate such that an inverter driving signal from the CPU is transferred accurately to the inverter and that a power supply having an output voltage with low distortion is realized, thereby improving the operating efficiency of the compressor. Because the storage circuit and the power supply circuit are built-in, standardization of the compressor driving apparatus is easily realized.

An inverter control apparatus for controlling a command frequency and a command voltage which are supplied to an inverter which then supplies AC power of a desired frequency, accordingly, to an induction motor. The inverter control apparatus receives a requested rotational speed of the motor and an actual rotational speed of the motor is obtained by detecting a frequency of a fluctuation component of a drive current supplied from the inverter to the induction motor. The difference between the requested rotational speed and the actual rotational speed represents a slip amount, which is added to the requested rotational speed to produce a command frequency. The command voltage is set to a voltage acquired when the monitored drive current is at a minimum value. Thus, the inverter control apparatus is able to maintain power consumption at the lowest possible level in response to changes in the operating environment without requiring a motor constant input or a motor speed detector, while compensating the slip ratio of the induction motor to maintain the motor speed at a target level.

A data input device includes a housing which can be grasped by a hand. The housing is equipped with a detecting device that detects a displacement or pressure at a portion of the housing on which fingers are placed when the housing is grasped by the hand. The data input device may include plural sensors to detect displacement or pressure at several different finger belly portions of the fingers. Also, plural sensors may be provided for each finger belly portion. The data input device may be used to control the movement of remotely located mechanical fingers or virtual fingers shown on a display.
