A method and apparatus for generating a profile page. A computer system identifies a group of potential profiles images from an image. The computer system identifies a group of features in the image. The computer system generates the profile page based on a potential profile image selected from the group of potential profile images and the group of features in the image. The computer system displays the profile page on a display system, enabling generating the profile page.

Profile generator

A method and apparatus for facilitating networking in a social network. A computer system identifies a group of features in an image for a person in the social network. The computer system also identifies a characteristic for networking from the group of features. Further, the computer system identifies a set of people in the social network having the characteristic. The computer system also performs an action enabling networking in the social network with respect to the person and the set of people in the social network having the characteristic.

Networking in a social network

A method and apparatus for providing assistance for an application. The application runs in a web browser displayed on a display system for a client device. The application monitors for user input to the web browser. When assistance is needed for a location in the web page, the location is identified based on the user input. A graphical element with a portion of the web page at the location is generated. A group of audio files on how to use the application at the location is identified. The graphical element with the portion of the web page at the location is displayed on the display system. The audio files are played on the client device while the graphical element with the portion of the web page at the location of the web page is displayed. The audio files and the graphical element provide the assistance.

Contextual assistance system

A method and apparatus provide assistance for an application. An assistance manager that identifies user input requesting assistance with a location within the page of the application displayed on a display system for a client device. The assistance manager identifies session information for the application by the computer system in response to identifying the user input requesting assistance. The assistance manager generates synchronized menu options within the application for an interactive voice response system based on the session information identified for the application. The assistance manager presents the synchronized menu options to the user within the interactive voice response system to provide the assistance.

Contextual web session and IVR integration

A method and apparatus for displaying organization information on a display system. A computer system identifies a position of a control displayed in a graphical user interface displayed on the display system. The computer system also identifies the organization information for a time period located in a database that corresponds to the position of the control in the graphical user interface. Further, the computer system displays the organization information identified in the database in the graphical user interface on the display system, wherein a graphical display of the organization information in the graphical user interface in the display system enables presenting the organization information for selected time periods.

Adjustable graphical display system

A computer system comprises a display system and a workflow adapter in communication with the display system. The workflow adapter identifies an object within a network. The workflow adapter then received a selection of the object. In response to receiving the selection of the object, the workflow adapter creates a custom group that includes the object. The custom group is a loose association of objects within the network and does not exist as a separate object within the network. The workflow adapter then performs an operation on the group.

Object oriented organization management with dynamic grouping

A method and apparatus for managing compensation on a display system. A computer system displays icons representing employees in a graphical user interface on the display system. The icons are positioned relative to each other and along a compensation axis and positions of the icons relative to each other indicate relative amounts of compensation between the employees. The computer system also displays a compensation change for an employee in the employees on the display system when an icon for the employee is moved along the compensation axis.

Compensation management system

A method for visually accessing information. A computer system displays pie charts in a graphical user interface in a display system. The pie charts have sections that represent pieces of the information, and each of the pie charts represents a type of the information. The computer system receives a user input selecting a portion of the sections from the pie charts displayed in the graphical user interface. The computer system displays a new pie chart in the graphical user interface using the portion of the sections selected by the user input. The new pie chart has new sections representing selected pieces of the information corresponding to the portion of the sections. The new sections have sizes based on a policy, and the sizes for the new sections indicates relative values of the pieces of the information with respect to each other. The new pie chart enables visually accessing the information.

Pie chart based information management system

A method and apparatus for identifying a relative importance of words in a word cloud. A computer system identifies graphical features and locations for the words representing information in the word cloud based on a group of metrics for the information. The graphical features distinguish the words from each other based on a first number of first values for a first metric in the group of metrics. The locations of the words distinguish the words from each other based on a second number of second values for a second metric in the group of metrics. The word cloud is displayed on a display system using the graphical features and the locations for the words in the word cloud in graphical user interface, which enables identifying the relative importance of the words in the word cloud based on the group of metrics for the information represented by the words.
