A wheel assembly ( ) having a rigid wheel frame ( ), a wheel ( ) rotatably and slidable supported in the wheel frame ( ), and an attachment assembly ( ) utilizes a jack ( ) to raise the container onto the wheel. An off-load foot ( ) including a downwardly extending leg ( ) having a base ( ) for engaging a ground surface ( ) is utilized to off-load containers. A container lockdown mechanism ( ) includes a securement member ( ) attached to the trailer ( ), an attachment member ( ), and an extension member ( ) extended between the container and the securement member ( ) to hold the container ( ) on the trailer ( ). A bottom wheel assembly ( ), an intermediate lockdown mechanism ( ), a front lockdown mechanism ( ), and a container foot ( ) to transport the containers ( ) with the wheel assemblies ( ) and container foot ( ) attached to the containers ( ). The invention utilizes a universal mounting bracket ( ) which can be used to mount a selected one of the wheel assembly ( ), the container foot ( ), and lockdown extensions ( ) which form part of the lockdown mechanisms ( ). The wheel assembly ( ) includes three wheels ( ) rotatably mounted on the mounting bracket ( ) by a wheel axle ( ) from which the lockdown extensions ( ) extend. The front and intermediate lockdown mechanisms ( ) each include a securement portion ( ) and a trailer attachment portion ( ). The container foot ( ) includes a pivotally mounted platform ( ), and the container foot ( ) is held in a container foot receiving slot ( ) during transport.

Method of off-loading a container from a tilt bed trailer

Container lockdown device

A detachable gooseneck trailer ( ) having a gooseneck ( ) and a detachable trailer deck ( ) utilizes a trailer attachment assembly ( ) to draw the trailer deck ( ) toward the gooseneck ( ) during attachment. The attachment assembly ( ) includes a pivoting carrier ( ) having a retainer leg ( ) with a rearward facing load carrier engagement surface ( ). A slide member ( ) is attached to the trailer deck ( ) and provides a forward facing slide member engagement surface ( ). As actuators ( ) pivot the carrier ( ) rearward, the load carrier engagement surface ( ) slides over the slide member engagement surface ( ). A latching mechanism ( ) utilizes an elongated latch plate ( ) pivotally mounted on the retainer leg ( ) to automatically latch the carrier ( ) to the trailer deck ( ). A latch biasing spring ( ) biases the latch plate ( ) toward its latched position, so that it automatically engages a catch ( ) mounted on the trailer deck. A lift mechanism ( ) utilizes lift actuator arms ( ) extending from the tops of the load carrier ends ( ) to push down carrier arms ( ) and support the gooseneck ( ) above the ground. A ride height lock assembly ( ) includes a pair of pawls ( ) and a pair of ratchets ( ) to lock the trailer deck at a desired ride height.

Gooseneck lift mechanism

A detachable gooseneck trailer (,) having a gooseneck (,) and a detachable trailer deck (,) utilizes a trailer attachment assembly (,) to draw the trailer deck (,) toward the gooseneck (,) during attachment.
