An apparatus and system are provided that provide advanced metering infrastructure and transformer monitoring operations in a smart grid and a wireless mesh network with a television white space (TVWS) backhaul to provide Internet connectivity to consumer devices. A transformer monitoring device receives signaling comprising utility usage data from one or more smart meters in a smart grid, monitors the transmission of electricity from a transformer to the buildings in the smart grid, and establishes a wireless mesh network to provide Internet connectivity to the one or more smart meters and to user devices. The apparatus receives a TVWS signal from a broadcast source, and converts the TVWS signal to a radio frequency or Wi-Fi signal, for transmission to the one or more smart meters and/or user devices to establish the wireless mesh network with a TVWS backhaul.

Data transfer facilitation to and across a distributed mesh network using a hybrid TV white space, Wi-Fi and advanced metering infrastructure construct

A power grid network is provided featuring a mesh network having a mesh node with a signal processor. The signal processor receives signaling containing information about collected data, which includes electrical signaling data related to electrical signaling being processed by a transformer to which the mesh node is coupled, metered data related to associated electrical signaling being provided from the transformer to a building or structure, and other mesh network data from one or more other mesh nodes deployed in the mesh network. The signal processor also determines corresponding signaling containing information about the collected data for transmitting back to a central location or one or more corresponding mesh nodes in the mesh network for further processing, based upon the signaling received.

Distributed 802.11S mesh network using transformer module hardware for the capture and transmission of data

A smart grid network is provided including one or more transformer monitoring devices configured to collect metering data from one or more metering devices in the smart grid network. The smart grid network further includes a cloud-based data processing and storage system with one or more cloud data processors configured to receive data from the one or more transformer monitoring devices and process the received data into categories including at least a first category of data comprising the collected metering data. The cloud-based data processing and storage system further includes at least one data store to store data of at least the first category of data, an analytics platform configured to analyze the received and categorized data and a graphics server configured to format the analyzed data for display on a user device of the smart grid network.

A transformer monitoring device for a smart grid network is provided, which is configured to transmit and receive optical signaling between other transformer monitoring devices and other devices in the smart grid network. The transformer monitoring device includes a receiver configured to receive optical signaling, a signal processor and a transmitter configured to transmit optical signaling. The signal processor is configured to receive optical signaling from the receiver, which contains information about collected data, including data related to electrical signaling being processed by a transformer located and arranged in a grid network or metered data related to associated signaling being provided from the transformer to a building or structure in the grid network and determine corresponding optical signaling containing information about the collected data for transmitting back to a central location or other connected device for further processing, based upon the signaling received.

A head-mounted user device is provided for use in a smart grid network. The head-mounted user device includes a signal processor configured to receive signaling containing information about one or more assets in a distributed power grid network from a data collection device configured to receive data from the assets in the distributed power grid network; and determine, based at least partly on the signaling received from the data collection device, signaling containing asset display information about the one or more assets. The head-mounted user device also includes an augmented or mixed reality display configured to display an actual field of view of the user and the asset display information by overlaying the asset display information over the actual field of view.

An apparatus, system and method are provided for detecting purposeful energy diversion in a smart grid network. A transformer monitoring device is configured to measure the amount of electricity supplied by a transformer to a plurality of structures and electric meters are configured to measure electricity usage at each of the plurality of structures. The electric meters transmit signaling containing information regarding measured electricity usage to the transformer monitoring device and the transformer monitoring device transmits signaling to a cloud-based server containing information regarding the amount of electricity supplied by the transformer to the plurality of structures and the measured electricity usage. The cloud-based server is configured to determine based on the received signaling if energy diversion is occurring in the smart grid network.

System and method for determination and remediation of energy diversion in a smart grid network

An apparatus is provided including an unmanned aerial vehicle and a transformer monitoring device, particularly for use in a smart grid network system to support a wireless mesh network in the smart grid network and to collect metering data relating to electricity usage in the smart grid network. The transformer monitoring device is configured to receive signaling containing data from one or more network devices in a smart grid network and transmit signaling containing data to the one or more network devices in the smart grid network, and also to receive signaling containing metered usage data from at least one electric meter associated with a building receiving electricity from a transformer in the smart grid network.

A pump system includes a pump unit an assembly frame that receives first and second pumps. A first and second pedal respectively couples to a first and second pump actuating portion. A rocker arrangement has a rocker that pivotally couples the first and second pedals, so a pushing movement of the first pedal in one direction causes a pulling movement of the second pedal in an opposite direction, and vice versa. The first and second pedals respond to a pushing force, respectively move the first and second pump actuating portions for pumping a fluid from the first and second pumps, and correspondingly move the first and second pump actuating portions for drawing the fluid to be pumped into the first and second pumps.
