In some embodiments a phase between a periodic spreading signal and an effective spreading signal modulating an interfering harmonic is determined, an amplitude of the interfering harmonic is estimated, and the interfering harmonic is canceled from a received signal. The method includes receiving wireless data through a wireless receiver and evaluating received wireless data through a receiver baseband module to identify an occurrence of a signal detection failure by a physical (PHY) layer or a media access control (MAC) layer of the wireless system. The method also includes triggering a radio frequency interference sensing state in response to the occurrence of signal detection failure by the physical layer or the media access control layer of the wireless system.

Embodiments include systems and methods for RFI mitigation in a wireless computing environment. In one embodiment, a platform determines RFI information of the platform by listening with a receiver of a transceiver of the platform when the transmitter of the transceiver is quiescent. The platform derives Frequency Domain Weights from the RFI information and transmits the Frequency Domain Weights to a Wireless Access Point (WAP). In the transmitter and receiver of the WAP, the Frequency Domain Weights are applied to signals received and to be transmitted.

A method according to one embodiment for mitigating radio frequency interference by identifying system clocks, identifying active radio channels, measuring clock harmonics in or near the active radio channels, determining potential interference occurring if the clocks were moved to new fundamental frequencies, and shifting clock fundamental frequencies to reduce interference to the active radio channels based on existing interference and the potential interference of a plurality of new fundamental frequencies. Of course, many alternatives, variations, and modifications are possible without departing from this embodiment.

Closed loop adaptive clock RFI mitigation

A sub-banded ultra-wideband (SB-UWB) system may combine aspects of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation scheme with aspects of an ultra-wideband system. In one embodiment, the system may use orthogonal waveforms to form an ultra-wideband wireless communications system.
