A film is described comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer and a polyvinyl acetal (e.g. butyral) resin. In some embodiments, the film has a glass transition temperature (i.e. Tg) ranging from 30&#xb0; C. to 60&#xb0; C. In some embodiments, the film has a gel content of at least 20% or greater. In some embodiments, the film has an elongation at break of at least 175%. The film typically comprises photoinitiator as a result of the method by which the film was made. The film may be a monolithic film or a layer of a multilayer film.

Articles useful as graphic films are presented. Specifically, the present disclosure is directed to an article comprising a film layer, the film layer comprising a polymer blend comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane and a polyvinyl butyral, and an adhesive layer adjacent the film layer.

The second may be a cured (meth)acrylic polymer film or coating; a backing such as thermoplastic polymer, woven or nonwoven fabrics, metal foils, paper, foams; or a coverfilm such as a fluoropolymer.

Also described is a method of forming a graphic film comprising providing a film comprising a first film layer having a Tg ranging from 30&#xb0; C. to 60&#xb0; C. comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer and polyvinyl acetal polymer and providing a graphic proximate the film.

A film is described comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer and polyvinyl acetal polymer composition. A layer of an adhesive composition is disposed proximate the film. The adhesive composition has a tensile elastic modulus of less than 1 MPa at 25&#xb0; C. and 1 hertz.

The present application is directed to articles useful as graphic films. Specifically, the present application is directed to an article comprising a film layer, the film layer comprising a polymer blend comprising a thermoplastic polyurethane and a cellulose ester, and an ink layer adjacent to at least one surface of the film. In some embodiments, the cellulose ester is a cellulose acetate butyrate. In some embodiments, the cellulose ester is a cellulose acetate propionate.

A method for making an anti-microbial article is described, the method comprising: providing a substrate; forming a solution comprising a chelating polymer and a metal ion; depositing the solution on the substrate; drying the substrate to form a coated substrate; and adding a potentiator to the coated substrate to form the antimicrobial article. Forming of the solution comprises (A) selecting a chelating polymer from the group consisting of polyglucosamines, ethylene acrylic acid copolymers, polycarboxylic acids, and polyamines, (B) dissolving the chelating polymer in acid to form an acidic solution, (C) preparing an aqueous solution of the metal ion, preferably by selecting a salt of the metal ion and dissolving the salt in water, and (D) combining the aqueous solution of the metal ion and the acidic solution. The addition of the potentiator to the coated substrate is accomplished by dissolving the potentiator in water to provide a potentiator solution, treating the coated substrate with the potentiator solution, drying the substrate to provide the finished anti-microbial article. The invention provides a method for the treatment of any of a variety of substrates to thereby render the substrate resistant to certain microbial growth.
