An apparatus, such as a lawnmower, includes a cutting device and a chassis for carrying the cutting device. The chassis includes a chassis body, at least one front wheel and at least one rear wheel mounted on the chassis body. An adjusting device for adjusting the height of the cutting device with respect to the chassis, is arranged between the cutting device and the chassis. The adjusting device includes an adjusting seat, an adjustment driving device mounted, a driving member, and a driven member connected to the other one of the chassis body and the cutting device.

Cutting apparatus is provided which includes clamping apparatus with two clamping members movable between a clamped position, wherein a portion of the saw blade is secured in position in use, and an unclamped position, wherein the saw blade is movable with respect to the clamping members. The apparatus is attached to or is integrally formed with shaft means which are substantially circular in cross section. The apparatus also includes the ability for user selection to operate the apparatus as a jigsaw or a scroller by operation of a locking mechanism.

The invention relates to a power tool with a reciprocating blade, such as a jigsaw, in which the blade can have linear and pendulum movement components imparted thereon and also to a blade holder assembly. The invention relates to the provision of a power tool such as a jigsaw, circular saw or mitre saw which is provided with guideline generating means. The guidelines are typically generated as laser beams and the invention allows for the generation of at least first and second, side by side guidelines. The guidelines are generated onto the workpiece and the area which lies between the guidelines defines the path along which a cutting blade of the power tool is to be directed. Preferably the guidelines are spaced such that a first guideline lies to one side of the blade and the other guideline lies to the other side of the blade thus allowing the guidelines to be viewable on both sides during the cutting operation.
