A connector assembly includes a connector housing configured to be coupled to a primary circuit board. A connector is held within the connector housing. The connector has a connector circuit board having a mating surface and a cable surface. The mating surface has mating contacts configured to be mated to corresponding mating contacts of a secondary circuit board. The cable surface has cable contacts. Cables extend between a first end and a second end. The first end of each cable is coupled to corresponding cable contacts of the connector circuit board. The second end of each cable is configured to be coupled to a cable contact on the primary circuit board or a second connector assembly on the primary circuit board.

A connector assembly includes a printed circuit having a component surface, and an electrical connector having a bottom side mounted on the component surface of the printed circuit. The electrical connector extends a length from a mating face to a rear side that is opposite the mating face. The electrical connector is configured to mate with a mating connector at the mating face. The assembly includes a support member that includes a body having a connector face and a circuit face. The support member is positioned such that the connector face engages the rear side of the electrical connector and the circuit face engages the component surface of the printed circuit to support the electrical connector on the printed circuit.

An electrical connector assembly includes a housing, a receptacle and a receptacle contact. The housing has an interior chamber between a cable end and an interface of the housing. The interface is configured to receive a mating end of a mating electrical connector. The receptacle contact is disposed within a slot of the receptacle and is configured to engage a corresponding contact in the mating electrical connector. The receptacle contact is pivotally mounted in the receptacle and configured to pivot about a pitch axis and along the slot of the receptacle to align with the corresponding contact in the mating electrical connector. Optionally, the receptacle is mounted so as to pivot in the interior chamber and is configured to pivot about a yaw axis within the interior chamber over a predetermined limited range of travel to align the receptacle contact with the corresponding contact in the mating electrical connector.

Electrical connector organizer

A connector assembly includes a cable, a connector and a resistance weld. The cable includes a conductor and a cable shield. The connector includes a contact and a shield. The shield includes conductive walls and a cradle. The walls extend from a mating interface to the cradle and at least partially surround the contact to shield the contact from electromagnetic interference. The mating interface is configured to receive a mating connector to mate the connector and mating connector. The cradle includes sidewalls interconnected by a coupling wall. The sidewalls and coupling wall extend from a loading interface toward the mating interface and are shaped to receive the cable through the loading interface. The resistance weld is between the cable shield and the cradle to electrically couple the shield to the cable shield. The shield is electrically connected to the electrical ground by the resistance weld and the cable shield.

A connector assembly adapted for mounting to a panel having a cutout includes a connector having a body including sides defining a perimeter configured to fit within the cutout. The connector includes a flange extending outward from one of the sides of the body, and the flange is configured to engage a front surface of the panel to define a stop against the panel when the connector is in a mated position. The connector is configured to be one of either front loaded through the cutout from a front of the panel to the mated position or rear loaded through the cutout from a rear of the panel to the mated position.

Panel mountable connector assembly

A receptacle assembly includes a housing that is configured to hold an electrical module. An energy transfer element, which is held by the housing, is positioned to directly engage the electrical module. The transfer element absorbs thermal energy produced by the electrical module. The receptacle assembly also includes a heat sink that is remotely located from the transfer element. A thermally conductive member extends between the heat sink and the transfer element to convey thermal energy therebetween.

A connector assembly includes a shielding cage and a center plate. The shielding cage includes side walls with ports disposed between the side walls. The ports are configured to receive a mating connector through a mating interface of the shielding cage. The center plate is disposed between and couples the side walls to one another. The center plate separates the ports and includes dividing plates and a connecting plate formed with the dividing plates. The dividing plates include spring members extending into the ports to engage the mating connectors received in the ports. The connecting plate extends along the mating interface to interconnect the dividing plates at a location proximate to the mating interface.

An electrical connector assembly is provided that includes a guide frame having an internal compartment configured to receive an electrical component. The guide frame extends a length between a plug end portion having a plug opening and a rear end portion opposite the plug end portion. The guide frame includes a first wall that extends between the rear end portion and the plug end portion. The first wall includes a heat sink retention area that is configured to receive a heat sink. The rear end portion includes a rear wall. A clip is configured to be mounted on the guide frame. The clip is configured to extend over and engage at least a portion of the heat sink when the heat sink is received by the heat sink retention area. The clip is configured to engage the rear wall of the guide frame and extend along at least a portion of the first wall of the guide frame.

A receptacle assembly for a transceiver module includes a transceiver cage that is configured to receive the transceiver module. The transceiver cage is configured to be mounted proximate a cutout in a circuit board such that a portion of the transceiver cage extends through the cutout. A connector is configured to mate with the transceiver module and is disposed within the cage. The transceiver cage and the connector are configured to be mounted on the same surface of a circuit board.

Transceiver receptacle assembly

A stacked jack multi-port shielded and magnetically conditioned connector assembly is provided for assembly in three distinct configurations. In one configuration where power over ethernet is not required, the connector assembly has modular jack terminals which are directly connected to a motherboard. In a second configuration, the connector assembly can receive conditioned and controlled electrical signals to the connector, whereby power over ethernet may be provided through designated ones of the modular jack terminals. In a third configuration, the connector assembly is configured for an integrated power over ethernet card, whereby the device is provided as an integrated assembly.

A stacked jack multi-port shielded and magnetically conditioned connector assembly is provided having a multi-port electrical connector housing having a plurality of housing ports adjacent a mating face thereof. A shield member comprises a base shield portion and sidewall portions extending from side edges of the base shield portion. The sidewall portions extend in opposite directions from the base shield portion. A plurality of modular connector subassemblies are adapted for stacking with the base shield portion positioned therebetween, and with one of the shield sidewall portions positioned against a side of one of the housings and the other shield sidewall portion is positioned against a side of the other housing.

Shielding configuration for a multi-port jack assembly

An electrical module assembly configured for latching engagement with a receptacle assembly adapted for mounting to a printed circuit board includes a release mechanism having at least one actuator arm adapted to extend longitudinally along a respective one of opposite side walls of the receptacle assembly, and the actuator arm includes an ejector tab extending longitudinally therewith. A pivotally mounted bail is selectively positonable between a latched position and an unlatched position, and the bail engages the actuator arm and longitudinally pulls the actuator arm to release the ejector tab from the receptacle assembly.

Release mechanism for transceiver module assembly

A stacked jack multi-port shielded and magnetically conditioned connector assembly is provided for assembly in three distinct configurations. One configuration is where power over ethernet is not required, but rather modular jack contacts are directly connected to a motherboard. A second configuration, the connector assembly can be configured to be enabled to receive conditioned and controlled electrical signals to the connector, whereby power over ethernet may be provided through designated ones of the modular jack contacts. Alternatively, the connector can be configured for an integrated power over ethernet card, where the device is provided as an integrated assembly.

A bifurcated conductive pad positioned on an electrical mating component, such as a circuit card, a contact portion of a cable assembly, or the like, having a main body and a mating edge. The bifurcated conductive pad receives a mating element having a built-up charge. The conductive pad comprises an initial contact portion and a final contact portion. The initial contact portion is configured to receive the mating element before the final contact portion receives the mating element, and wherein at least one of the initial and final contact portions is grounded so that the final contact portion receives a reduced amount of the built-up charge.

Charge-controlling system

A socket is provided which has an insulative housing surrounding a metal substrate. The substrate has an array of apertures which are located in spatially arranged order to accommodate the precise pattern desired for the device to be connected. Contact assemblies include stamped and formed contacts having an insulative plastic molded over a central section of the contact. The molded inserts are receivable in the apertures of the substrate and are later swaged to retain them and the contacts to the substrate.
