An instrument set is provided that has a tapered configuration that facilitates the insertion of the instrument set into a patient.

Dilating stylet and cannula

A surgical procedure for preparing a graft for insertion in an opening in a human body, according to which a mold is formed in the opening and transferred from the opening to a position adjacent a stylus. A contour of the mold is traced with the stylus; and the tracing movement of the stylus is transferred to corresponding movement of a cutting member so that the cutting member cuts the same contour in the graft.

Method and apparatus for osteochondral autograft transplantation

Each of an osteochondral plug graft and a kit comprises a trapezoid shaped construct configured for osteochondral implanting. An osteochondral regeneration method comprises forming a recipient socket in a chondral area of an articular joint in need of repair; harvesting a trapezoid shaped graft from another chondral area; and implanting the trapezoid shaped graft into the recipient socket.

Bone regeneration device

A collagen material is disclosed and can include a plurality of particles. Each particle can include an elongated, thin body having one or more arcuate portions and one or more straight portions. Further, each particle can include one or more fibers extending from the body. One or more fibers of one particle can engage the one or more fibers of one or more other particles to establish a matrix of material, where a cross-linking agent may be added in the collagen material. Furthermore, an additive including a radiocontrast medium, a drug, a cellular matter, a biological factor, or a combination thereof may be added to the collagen mixture.

Injectable collagen material

In one preferred aspect, a method is provided for inserting an instrument set having a tapered configuration into a patient. In another preferred aspect, a method is provided for inserting a cannula having an external threaded portion into bone. In yet another preferred aspect, a method is provided for forming and enlarging an opening in bone.

Method for use of dilating stylet and cannula

The present invention is directed to methods and compositions for manufacturing a bone graft substitute. A powder compaction process is utilized to generate a shaped product comprised of a granulated bone material, such as demineralized bone matrix. In addition, a processing aid is utilized to facilitate compaction of the granulated bone material and for release of the product from the die.
