Disclosed are methods of displaying and editing a document having editable text that allows for a wide variety of word verification features beyond merely correcting errors in spelling or grammar and allows for such detailed editing in a simple and user-friendly manner.

An app maintains different multi-modal output signatures. Each multi-modal output signature contains instructions for transducer output with speaker output and/or display output. Also, each multi-modal output signature is unique and different from all other multi-modal output signatures. Further, each different multi-modal output signature corresponds to only one of many possible alerts that may be generated by a printer. The app is adapted to control the printer user interface system and/or a portable device user interface system, to output these multi-modal output signatures in coordination.

A system for providing print device dynamic status indicator feedback includes a print device, and a status indicator feedback unit. The print device includes a print engine and one or more status monitors. The status indicator feedback unit includes a display device, a light emitting module, a processor in communication with the light emitting module, and a computer-readable medium containing programming instructions. The system may receive information corresponding to one or more current machine states of the print device from the one or more status monitors of the print device, determine a priority level associated with each of the one or more current machine states, identify a machine state associated with a highest priority level, identify a dynamic feedback pattern associated with the identified machine state. The dynamic feedback pattern includes a visual pattern. The system may and instruct the light emitting module to emit the visual pattern.

Devices include a platform having a media side that supports sheets of media. The platform moves in a direction perpendicular to the surface upon which the devices rests between a home position and a plurality of paper supply positions located in an upward direction from the home position. A user interface displays a first reload option that, when selected, lowers the platform to the home position for reloading the sheets of media onto the platform. The user interface also displays an accessibility option for reloading the sheets of media onto the platform that, when selected, lowers the platform to an accessibility position that is in the upward direction relative to the home position.

A display unit enables content to be displayed in a human readable form. The display unit displays a portion of the content to be displayed wherein some of the content to be displayed is non-viewable on the display unit. The display unit, in response to a user-originating directional content moving action, determines a location within the portion of the content being displayed the determined location corresponding to a directional characteristic of the user-originating directional content moving action. The display unit causes a visual indicia to be displayed at the determined location within the portion of the content being displayed, the visual indicia providing a user orientation marker for the portion of the content being displayed. The display unit causes the visual indicia to visually move in a direction corresponding to the directional movement of the content.

A media path crossover for a printing system includes a first crossover pathway on which sheets of print media are conveyed across a crossover junction without interruption and a second crossover pathway on which sheets of print media are conveyed across the crossover junction without interruption. The second crossover pathway intersects the first crossover pathway at a crossover junction. The first crossover pathway comprises a first input path and a first output path and the second crossover pathway comprises a second input path and a second output path. At least the first input path includes a first access panel, whereby a sheet can be cleared therefrom while continuing conveyance of media along the second crossover pathway.

Displays are provided for a graphical user interface including a device capacity mimic in a job manager in a system, such as a xerographic machine. The displays include a visual representation of the available capacity of each of a number of devices for the system, such as each output destination for a printer with multiple output destinations. The device capacity mimic shows the effect of jobs in progress on the available capacity, each job consuming a portion of the available capacity. Using this mimic, the user may, for example, revise the destination of jobs that have been planned but not yet started (e.g., by dragging the job). A mimic view of this information with a graphical user interface for managing the device assignments is provided. Thus, a user may not only view information about the device assignments for jobs, but also control or manage the device assignments for jobs.

A printing device has at least one printing engine, at least one media path adjacent the printing engine, and a paper tray adjacent the media path. The paper tray stores media and supplies the media to the media path. Further, at least one sheet guide is attached to the paper tray, and at least one rectangular member is attached to the sheet guide. The rectangular member has a sheet guide opening, and the sheet guide opening attaches to the sheet guide. The rectangular member has a first planar surface that is coplanar with a second planar surface of the sheet guide. Also, the first planar surface is at least twice the two-dimensional size of the second planar surface. The first planar surface and the second planar surface contact media stored within the paper tray.

Document processing systems and methods are presented in which a graphical user interface is used to set a user-selectable refill level for a print engine consumable, such as toner, replenisher, paper, etc. Once the user-selectable level has been reached, the user is notified and is prompted to either refill the print consumable or to continue use of the document processing system without refilling.
