A laser radiation detection system using a spatial/wavelength filter to 'ulate' the response of a detector as a function of wavelength, allowing discrimination of laser sources against broad spectral sources, as well as wavelength determination.

Laser radiation detection system

A frequency agile optical radar system including a frequency agile laser rce coupled with an extra-cavity dispersive element in such a manner as to radiate into space specific optical frequencies correlated with specific elevation angles measured from the horizontal. Laser radiation reflected from an object in space is detected by a staring detector system and the wavelength of the reflected optical energy determined therefrom. The elevation angle of the object in space is correlated with the optical frequency determination and coupled together with target range and aximuth angle so that the position and range to an object in space may be determined.

Frequency agile optical radar

A system for warning a target designator operator whenever a target less n a predetermined distance from the operator is designated. Actuating the target designator triggers a time interval counter and circuitry to detect reflected pulses. An indicator will warn the operator if a pulse is reflected to the system from an object less than a predetermined distance from the operator.

False target warning system

Two dimensional optical or electrical images are processed through a storage tube designed to yield the correlation function between the input images and stored images. By generating a series of stored images representing sine and cosine components of the Fourier transform, a fast, two-dimensional transform of the image is obtained.

Direct spatial Fourier power spectra of optical images are obtained by maulating either the image focused onto a photosensitive charge coupled device (CCD) or the readout from the CCD.
