A disclosed apparatus may include (1) a retractable guide rail movably coupled to a chassis, wherein the retractable guide rail is configured to support a field-replaceable unit when the field-replaceable unit is installed in the chassis, (2) a support bracket coupled to the chassis and aligned with the retractable guide rail within the chassis and (3) a locking bracket movably coupled to the support bracket, wherein the locking bracket is configured to (A) engage the retractable guide rail in an expanded position within the chassis when the field-replaceable unit is not installed in the chassis and (B) disengage the retractable guide rail such that the retractable guide rail moves to a retracted position when the field-replaceable unit is installed in the chassis. Apparatus, system, and method for supporting field-replaceable units in telecommunications devices via retractable guide rails

The disclosed apparatus may include (1) a split heatsink assembly that comprises (A) a first heatsink that includes a base for thermally coupling to a first heat-emitting component, wherein the base of the first heatsink forms an opening, and (B) a second heatsink that includes a pedestal for thermally coupling to a second heat-emitting component, wherein the pedestal of the second heatsink fits into the opening formed by the base of the first heatsink, and (2) an EMI absorber that at least partially encompasses the pedestal of the second heatsink and resides between the pedestal of the second heatsink and the base of the first heatsink in the opening. Apparatus, system, and method for electromagnetic interference mitigation in split heatsink technologies

Apparatus, system, and method for aligning and supporting line cards within telecommunications systems

An apparatus for remotely releasing a connector, e.g., an RJ-45 connector, is described. Embodiments of the invention allow a user to release a cable comprising a connector from a connector jack when the connector jack is difficult to reach. The invention may be particularly useful to release cables from devices comprising an array of connector jacks.

A front-to-back cooling system allows cooling of an apparatus containing two orthogonal sets of modules. A vertical set of modules is cooled with vertical air flow across the modules that enters from a front of the apparatus and exits from the back of the apparatus. A horizontal set of modules is cooled with air flow that passes through openings in a midplane connecting the two sets of modules.

A helical drive system for seating and unseating a removable component, such as a printed circuit board, into a slot is described. The helical drive system includes a receptacle fixed to a housing proximate the slot. A handle and drive shaft are attached to the printed circuit board. The drive shaft has a helical groove that mates with a pin included in the receptacle. Rotation of the drive shaft pulls the printed circuit board into the slot and fully seats the printed circuit board. Rotation in the other direction unseats the printed circuit board. The helical groove has an enlarged entry that terminates in one or more points. This configuration facilitates the automatic alignment of the pin with the helical groove.

Helical drive insertion and ejection

A cable manager is attached to a device, connected to a number of cables. The cables are engaged by the cable manager in order to appropriately guide and organize the cables. The cable manager is sized and positioned so that when in a normal operating position, certain components remain freely accessible. When so desired, a technician or other user can easily raise and secure the cable manager without disconnecting the cables, thereby moving the coupled cables out of the way of various components of the device. Thus, components obstructed by the cable manager when in the normal operating position can be accessed and serviced, or otherwise utilized.
