A method for managing security settings of a print device using a lockdown mode includes receiving a request for enabling a lockdown mode. The lockdown mode prevents modifications to configurations of one or more components of the print device. The method further includes activating the lockdown mode. Activating the lockdown mode includes modifying a plurality of security settings corresponding to lockdown configurations of the one or more components of the print device, and disabling one or more modes that a user may use to modify the plurality of security settings. The method includes storing the plurality of security settings and the associated lockdown values in a security module, performing a compliance check to detect if current values associated with the plurality of security settings have changed by comparing to the lockdown values, and performing a remediation action in response to detecting that the one or more security settings have changed.

System and method for managing security settings of a print device using a lockdown mode

A driver module can be configured to generate a driver interface. The driver module can be configured to include, in the interface, various menus, selectors, and buttons to allow the user to specify the parameters and settings of the job. The driver module can be configured to include, in the interface, an option for the user to remove a job, sent to the reproduction device, after the job is processed by the reproduction device.

Methods and systems for user controlled reproduction job removal

A process that provides a status report following a request for the destruction of data files a user wishes to completely erase from a storage medium, such as a hard drive or removable disk. A system administrator can select a quantity of and pattern to be used in overwrites of the data file so that no one can recover the data from the storage medium. A simplified process for duplex printing on a simplex-only printing system in which plural page document duplex electronic print jobs generated with a duplex printing control signal are sent to be printed. If such duplex print jobs are sent to a duplex printer then they are printed normally without user interactive intervention. However, when such duplex print jobs are sent to a simplex printing system which does not have automatic duplex printing capability, then, the simplex printing system detects the duplex printing control and temporarily electronically stores the duplex print job until a duplex document printing command signal is entered, whereupon, the duplex print job is automatically split up into two different split simplex electronic print jobs, of alternate first and second side pages, and only the first side pages are initially printed and outputted, and then the simplex printing system automatically pauses to wait for these copy sheets printed on only their first sides to be reloaded into the copy sheets input of the simplex printing system, and for a second sides print command, whereupon the other, second, sides, are automatically printed on the copy sheets to produce a complete collated plural page duplex printed print job. The simplex printing system can automatically determine whether the first sides to be printed are printed with the odd pages or the even pages. The duplex document printing command signal is preferably entered into the interactive user interface of the simplex printing system by a user then present.

Duplex printing method for a simplex only printer by electronically

A document server is provided for processing a distribution job in a document processing system. The document processing system includes a document manager, communicating with first and second virtual services, for coordinating the storing or processing of first and second copies of an image data set at the first and second virtual services, respectively. The document processing system further includes a distribution agent, communicating with the document manager, for receiving a first job ticket, including attributes for controlling the storing or processing of the first copy of the image data set at the first virtual service and a second job ticket for controlling the storing or processing of the second copy of the image data set at the second virtual service. The document manager and the distribution agent function cooperatively to provide the document server with the capability to halt the processing of the first and second copies of the image data set in order for altering attributes of the first and second job tickets, and to determine the status of the processing of the first and second copies of the image data set. Moreover, the distribution agent can provide values for attributes of the first and second job tickets when a user does not program those values in the first and second job tickets.

A document server is provided for processing a distribution job in a document processing system. The document processing system includes a document manager, communicating with first and second virtual services, for coordinating the storing or processing of first and second copies of an image data set at the first and second virtual services, respectively. The document processing system further includes a distribution agent, communicating with the document manager, for receiving a first job ticket, including attributes for controlling the storing or processing of the first copy of the image data set at the first virtual service and a second job ticket for controlling the storing or processing of the second copy of the image data set at the second virtual service. In practice, the distribution agent transmits the first job ticket to the document manager at a first time so that the document manager routes the first copy of the image data set and the first job ticket to the first virtual service, and the distribution agent transmits the second job ticket to the document manager at a second time so that the document manager routes the second copy of the image data set and second job ticket to the second virtual service.

An apparatus for producing variably compiled presentation and supporting page sets, which may include multimedia, transparency, divider, master set and/or handout output sets created, modified, viewed and/or printed according to an array of color, editing and image modification features. Dividers may be automatically produced and interleaved between transparencies, so as to include modified images, additional information or other material not found on the set of transparencies. A reprographic system of the type having a set of features available for use in executing a copying job, including the ability to pre-select a subset of desired features from the set of all available features for the generation of the copies. The system also includes a user interface suitable for displaying the available features as icons and the ability to execute the copying job in accordance with the pre-selected set of desired features. The system further includes a job status screen, displayed on the user interface, indicating the system status during execution of the copying job. Also displayed on the user interface is a second subset of the available features which represents only those features whose settings may be altered during execution of the copying job, thereby enabling an operator to alter one or more of the second subset during execution of the copying job.

Display of user selectable paper feed options

A reproduction system which includes inter alia a user interface providing a means for programming a plurality of features associated with the execution of a copying job. The system includes a means for comparing the most recently selected feature with all previously programmed features in order to identify any mutually exclusive or undesirable feature pairs. Finally, the system also contains one or possibly multiple priority establishing methods or schemes for use in automatically resolving conflicting feature selections.

Conflict resolution with warning in a reprographic system

The present invention is a multiprocessor control system that allows full job recovery after a machine power down or after a malfunction or software crash or temporary power outage. In particular, essential variables such as the state and status of the machine and the programmed job at the time of the malfunction are maintained in nonvolatile memory. This information is continually updated in nonvolatile memory. Once the control system has reset and reinitialized all the control elements after a malfunction, the control restores or downloads all the relevant variables in the nonvolatile memory to the various control elements to maintain status. In another embodiment, the essential variables are maintained in RAM locations in a master processor and saved for downloading to the control elements.
