An electrical splice connector comprising a frame, at least one set of cooperating wedge members movably mounted to the frame, and a first spring connected between a first one of the wedge members and the frame. The wedge members have opposing sides adapted to contact opposite sides of an electrical conductor. The spring extends at least partially along a length of the first wedge member.

An electrical wedge connector comprising a shell, and a wedge. The shell defines a wedge receiving passage therein. The wedge is shaped to wedge against the shell when inserted into the wedge receiving passage. The wedge has a conductor receiving channel therein for receiving and fixedly holding a conductor in the shell when the wedge is wedged into the shell. The shell has first portion with a first flexure stiffness generating a first clamping force on the wedge when the wedge is wedged in the first portion of the shell. The shell has a second portion with a second flexure stiffness generating a second clamping force on the wedge when the wedge is wedged in the second portion of the shell.

Automatic electrical wedge connector

An electrical conductor splice connector including a body; conductor contacting wedges movably mounted on the body; and at least one wedge movement anti-reverse clip connected to the body and contacting one of the wedges. The anti-reversing clip includes an anti-reversing tab, a removal tab, a notch therebetween, and a wedge stop tab for limiting reward movement of the wedges on the body.

Electrical splice connector

A grounding connector includes a frame with upper and lower arms cantilevered from a center section to form a channel adapted to receive a section of a structural steel member. The frame has a conductor receiving region in each of the cantilevered arms, each conductor receiving region being a slot extending through the frame having a longitudinal axis aligned substantially parallel to the frame. The conductor receiving slot on one side of the frame is sized to receive a conductor of a first size and the conductor receiving slot on the other side is sized to receive a conductor of a different size. The conductor receiving regions are located so that when the upper arm and the lower arm are compressed to grip the section of the structural steel member received in the channel, the conductor is crimped to the frame. In another embodiment, the upper and lower arms of the frame have opposed surfaces for engaging the flange of the structural member and at least one of the opposed surfaces has an elongated protrusion such that when the frame is caused to clasp the flange of the structural member, the protrusion provides a slight interference between the width of the U-shaped frame and the thickness of the flange of the structural member. In other instances, opposed elongated protrusions are substantially coplanar and may be aligned substantially parallel to the frame or substantially transverse of the frame.

Connector for connecting a conductor to a structural member

An electrical connector comprising a first member and at least one second member. The first member comprises a center section and two arms extending from the center section forming a first receiving area between the two arms. The second member is located in the first receiving area. The second member comprises at least one protrusion for piercing into a member located in the first receiving area when the connector is compressed onto the member.

Compression grounding connector for rail and structural steel

A hydraulic compression tool comprises a frame and a die movably connected to the frame with a hydraulic drive system. An alignment guard is connected to the frame, and the alignment guard extends along a side of the die and has a receiving area to a receive a workpiece therein such that the workpiece can be received in the receiving area and make contact with the alignment guard such that the alignment guard aligns the workpiece relative to the path of a die for aligning contact of the die against the workpiece as the die is moved toward the workpiece.

A connector having a frame with an upper arm and a lower arm cantilevered from a center section to form a channel adapted to receive a section of a structural steel member. The frame has a conductor receiving area to receive a conductor therein. The conductor receiving area is located so that when the upper arm and the lower arm are compressed to grip the section of the structural steel member received in the channel, the conductor located in the conductor receiving area is crimped to the frame.

A hydraulic compression tool comprises a frame and a first die and an opposite second die mounted on the frame. The first die is immovably connected to the frame and the second die is movably connected to the frame along a line of action and is positioned oppositely of the first die. The first die is positioned on the frame along the line of action of the second die. At least one of the first and second die has a work piece engaging surface which is disposed relative to the line of action at an angle other than perpendicular thereto.

Dimpling Die set

An electrical terminal connector comprising a connector body and a set screw. The connector body has a block section with a conductor receiving passageway. The set screw is connected to the block section to intersect the conductor receiving passageway. The block section further defines a porthole extending therethrough. The porthole intersects the conductor receiving passageway forming a lower recess therein. When a conductor is inserted into the conductor receiving passageway, the recess receives a portion of the conductor which is clamped down upon by the set screw.

Electrical terminal connector

An electrical grounding connector comprising a U-bolt, an upper clamp part and a lower clamp part. The upper clamp part is connected to the U-bolt to clamp a floor pedestal therebetween. The lower clamp part is connected to the U-bolt to clamp a conductor between the upper and lower clamp parts. The upper clamp part has a plurality of barbs therein to penetrate through paint on the floor pedestal. The barbs are formed by piercing into a pedestal contact surface of the upper clamp part at an acute angle to the surface.

A conductor is formed from a single unitary sheet of metal and is bent so as to form a body portion and two overlapped flange sections. The flange section which is immediately adjacent the contact surface to which the conductor is connected may include at least one surface scratching projection which extends outwardly beyond the undersurface of that flange section to scratch and make electrical contact with the contact surface to permit electric flow between the conductor and the contact surface.
