A peripheral device for matrix multiplication including a weight memory, an input memory, a multiplier, an accumulator, an output memory and a sequencer to generate signals to drive the input memory and the output memory and to generate an interrupt signal. The weight memory may be loaded with weights and biases for a matrix multiplication operation, and the multiplier and accumulator may implement the multiply and accumulator operations for a matrix multiplication operation. Data may be swapped between the input memory and output memory to reduce the memory required for matrix multiplication operations.

System and methods for matrix multiplication

A system may include a communication circuit as part of a microcontroller. One or more registers may be configured to enable communication between the communication circuit and one or more external peripherals without a CPU or other processor controlling the communication. The one or more registers may be configured to allow a specific trigger event to initiate communication between the communication circuit and the external peripheral. A DMA controller may transmit data from the communication circuit to a memory and may transmit data from the memory to the external peripheral.

Device and methods for communication between electronic components

A system for managing a virtual meeting (e.g., video conference) includes memory storing a video conference application and at least one processor to execute the video conference application to generate a virtual meeting view for a first attendee including multiple attendee video streams arranged according to a virtual attendee arrangement specifying positions of the attendee video streams relative to each other in the virtual meeting view, receive second attendee audio data associated with a second attendee video stream, identify a particular video stream position specified by the virtual attendee arrangement, determine differential stereo effect data corresponding with the particular video stream position, and apply the differential stereo effect data to the second attendee audio data to provide differential audio signals on different audio channels output to the first attendee to create a stereo sound effect corresponding with the particular video stream position.

System for managing a virtual meeting

Automated speed ramp control of stepper motor acceleration and deceleration using direct memory access (DMA) and core independent peripherals (CIPs) comprises a numerically controlled oscillator (NCO) controlled through direct memory access (DMA) transfers of prescale values used in combination with a clock oscillator to generate clock pulses that are a function of the clock oscillator frequency and the prescale values. This automates changing the frequency of the NCO, thereby controlling steeper motor speed, without requiring computer processing unit (CPU) overhead. The DMA module is enabled during a first number of clock pulses for step speed acceleration, disabled during a second number of clock pulses for normal operation at full step speed, and then re-enabled during a third number of clock pulses for step speed deceleration. A table in memory may store and provide a plurality of acceleration and deceleration prescale values for DMA transfers to the NCO.

Automated speed ramp control of stepper motors

A vehicle movement tracking system that employs floor mats having ridges for generating location information in the form of modulated vibrations, detectable with an accelerometer. Two sensors are in a wheel of a vehicle. One sensor senses wheel rotation, and the other sensor senses vertical acceleration. The vehicle passes over a floor mat comprising vertically elevated ridges thereon that code the mat and thereby indicate the location at which the mat is at. When the vehicle travels over this mat the vertical acceleration sensor in the wheel detects the vertically elevated ridges and the wheel rotation sensor detects the distance between the vertically elevated ridges. In combination these two sensors are used to create a location word that denotes the mat over which the vehicle passes over. The location word is stored in non-volatile memory and later uploaded to a location collection station.

Vibration-based tracking system

A vehicle movement tracking system that employs floor mats for generating location information using magnetic stripes, detectable with a magnetic sensor in a wheel of the vehicle. Two sensors are in a wheel of a vehicle. One sensor senses wheel rotation, and the other sensor senses a magnetic. The vehicle passes over a floor mat comprising magnetic stripes thereon that code the mat and thereby indicate the location at which the mat is at. When the vehicle travels over this mat, the magnetic sensor in the wheel detects the magnetic stripes and the wheel rotation sensor detects the distance between the magnetic stripes. In combination, these two sensors are used to create a location word that denotes the mat over which the vehicle passes over. The location word is stored in non-volatile memory and later uploaded to a location collection station.

Magnetic-based tracking system

A microcontroller has a central processing unit and a plurality of peripheral units and a plurality of port bit circuits provided through at least one input/output port. At least one port bit circuit of the plurality of port bit circuits is not connected to an external pin and the at least one port bit circuit is configurable to route a signal received at the port bit circuit to a selected peripheral of the microcontroller.

Virtual ports for connecting core independent peripherals

An operational amplifier with totem pole connected output transistors having inputs coupled to multiplexers for selectable coupling of signals and voltage levels thereto. The high and low output transistors may be forced hard on or hard off in addition to normal coupling of signals thereto. The operation of the output transistors may be dynamically changed to pass only positive going signals, negative going signals, placed in a tristate high impedance state, hard connected to a supply voltage and/or hard connected to supply common return. A core independent peripheral (CIP) may also be coupled to the operational amplifier for dynamically changing the multiplexer inputs in real time, as can external control signals to a control circuit coupled to the multiplexers.

Operational amplifier with controllable output modes

A programmable arbitrary sequence direct memory access (DMA) controller accesses sequentially addressed memory locations (source or destination) using address pointer registers. Each sequentially addressed memory location containing an indirect memory address is stored in an address latch and used to access the actual non-sequential memory location to be accessed by the DMA transfer.

A stepper control circuit includes numerical controlled oscillators configured to provide step signals for multiple axes of stepper motor movement. The numerical controlled oscillators are configured to be operated at a same frequency provided by a synchronized clock signal.

A circuit includes a reference voltage, a switched mode power supply (SMPS) loop filter circuit configured to provide an inductor current limit based on the reference voltage, and a trigger circuit configured to enable or disable the SMPS loop filter circuit. When the SMPS loop filter circuit is enabled, an output of the circuit is based on output of the SMPS loop filter circuit and output voltage of the SMPS. When the SMPS loop filter circuit is disabled, the SMPS current control circuit output is based on an estimated current limit that is increased when load current demand will increase and decreased when load current demand will decrease.

Fast transient response circuit

A liquid crystal display with integrated capacitive touch sensors has an LCD display with at least one alphanumerical or graphic symbol, and at least one capacitive touch sensor arranged above a display layer or within transparent layers of the LCD display forming the alphanumerical or graphical symbol.

Capacitive based gesture input system

A proximity sensing function is implemented using a collection of core independent peripherals (CIPs) in a microcontroller without software overhead to the central processor during operation thereof. A pulse width modulation (PWM) peripheral generates a high frequency drive signal that is on for a short duration to an ultrasonic transmitting transducer. An ultrasonic receiving transducer receives reflected ultrasonic pulses during an integration time window. The received pulses are detected and integrated into a voltage value. The integrated voltage value is compared to a prior voltage value average, and if different, generates a proximity sense signal of an object. Direction, distance and speed of the object may also be determined from the voltage values.

Core independent ultrasonic proximity sensing peripheral

A multi-cell battery pack charging system adjusts each battery cell's charging current to synchronize the completion of charge. The battery pack is charged as a whole, and need only be charged once, and without requiring charge shuttling, resistive charge balancing or inductive charge dumping. Charging current to each battery cell is based on voltage matching of the battery cells being charged, lower voltage battery cells being given more charge current until there is a voltage match to the other series connected battery cells. Additional charge may be given to higher capacity cells of the battery pack during the voltage matching and charging process.
