A thermoplastic writing composition includes at least one particulate filler including one or more of days, silicates, or carbonates, at least one thermoplastic binder material including one or more of high density polyethylene, polypropylene, and styrene, one or more waxes chosen from soy wax, paraffin wax, and beeswax, at least one colorant, and optionally, at least one surfactant.

Erasable writing compositions

The technology described herein relates to a system and device for saturating an absorbent wicking nib with colored ink supplied by an ink pad having a well configured to receive a portion of the sidewall of the nib. Different colors of ink can be transferred to different portions of the nib sidewall to result in a multicolor marker nib.

Wicking nib device and system

The technology described herein relates to a system and device for saturating an absorbent wicking nib with at least two inks transferred from at least two ink donor structures, to provide a multicolor marker nib. In aspects, a wicking nib device is configured to orient the saturated marking nibs of two different-colored, saturated marker nibs directly adjacent opposing side portions of a porous wicking nib, such that the porous wicking nib simultaneously wicks ink from both contacted marker nibs to create a dual-color marking nib. The wicking nib device may include an aperture for viewing the wicking action.

An apparatus, kit, and methods for forming a bead between bead-forming blocks having internal bead-forming channels are provided. The bead-forming channels of adjacent bead-forming blocks are slidably engaged to manipulate a measured amount of modeling compound between the bead-forming blocks and within an internal space between the opposing channels. In one embodiment, the bead-forming blocks maintain orientation with respect to an axis of travel based on a block guide. Further, the measured amount of modeling compound is determined using an integrated measuring feature coupled to at least one of the pair of bead-forming blocks. The internal volume of an integrated measuring feature corresponds to a threshold amount of modeling compound for manipulating between the pair of blocks and forming a bead while contacting at least a portion of the mated bead-forming channels. In further aspects, a molded bead may be coated with a multicomponent bead-coating mixture. Multi-component bead-coating mixtures and methods of using thereof are provided.

Writing compositions capable of undergoing a color development when brought into contact with a specific substrate including a color change-inducing compound are provided. Writing instruments comprising such writing compositions are also provided. Application of the writing compositions to surfaces other than the intended substrate will avoid color development and prevent staining of the unintended surfaces. The writing compositions include at least one mineral filler, at least one leuco dye, one or more lipids including one or more waxes, one or more fatty acids, or one or more fatty acid esters or fatty amides, titanium dioxide, and optionally at least one additive.

Color development writing compositions and writing instruments

Writing compositions capable of undergoing a color development when brought into contact with a specific substrate including a color change-inducing compound are provided. Application of the writing compositions to surfaces other than the intended substrate will avoid color development and prevent staining of the unintended surfaces. The writing compositions include at least one particulate filler including a clay, at least one leuco dye, one or more waxes chosen from a group consisting of polyethylene wax, soy wax, paraffin wax, and beeswax, at least one thermoplastic binder material including a polyethylene, titanium dioxide, and optionally at least one additive.

An enhanced washability ink composition has enhanced rinsability and/or washability from fabric, walls, or skin. The composition may comprise about 70 wt % to about 95 wt % water; about 5 wt % to about 35 wt % one or more sugars (e.g., dextrins); about 1 wt % to about 40 wt % one or more optional dye blockers; about 0.1 wt % to about 15 wt % one or more dyes; and one or more optional additives. The rinsable ink composition is usable in a variety of instruments, including markers or pens. A method for making the rinsable ink composition comprises dissolving one or more sugars (e.g., dextrins) in water to form a sugar solution; subsequently adding one or more dyes to the sugar solution to form a sugar-dye solution; and subsequently adding one or more optional dye blockers to the sugar-dye solution.

Enhanced washability inks and methods of making the same

A water-based, erasable marking composition comprising 1-86% by weight water, 0.3-38% by weight pigment, 13-45% by weight polyurethane, and 0-85% by weight glycerin, wherein said polyurethane has a viscosity which increases by at least a factor of 10 when said polyurethane is dried from a 30% dispersion of said polyurethane in water to a 65% polyurethane dispersion in water. The present invention also includes an application instrument comprising an outer body having a first end, an applicator at the first end of the outer body, a reservoir included within the outer body and in fluid communication with the applicator, and a water-based, erasable marking composition within the reservoir. The water-based, erasable marking composition comprises the composition of the invention.

Erasable marking composition

A water-based, erasable marking composition comprising 1-86% by weight water, 0.3-38% by weight pigment, 13-45% by weight polyurethane, and 0-85% by weight glycerin. The present invention also includes an application instrument comprising an outer body having a first end, an applicator at the first end of the outer body, a reservoir included within the outer body and in fluid communication with the applicator, and a water-based, erasable marking composition within the reservoir. The water-based, erasable marking composition comprises the composition of the invention.

The present invention provides a low-bleed coloring composition incorporating a film-forming agent, an alkali-soluble resin, an aqueous carrier, and a colorant. The coloring composition can optionally include one or more of a humectant, a surfactant, a preservative, a drying agent, a pH regulant, a bittering agent or a fragrance. The present invention further provides a mark upon the surface of a substrate. The present invention furter provides a writing instrument comprising the coloring composition.

Coloring composition

A color-changing marking composition system, suitable for use in the form of crayons and pencils, comprising a first marking composition comprising wax, a dye, which is other than a Leuco dye and which is capable of changing color upon contact with a color change-inducing compound, and a solvent capable of solubilizing the dye; and a second marking composition comprising wax and a color change-inducing compound, which is capable of inducing a color change in a dye in a marking composition with which it is brought in contact.
