Compositions comprising a sugar alkoxylate and processes for preparing said compositions are provided. The compositions can be used as a bio-film inhibitor, rheology modifier, emulsion breaker, and/or emulsion inverter. Additionally, the compositions can be used in methods of breaking and/or inverting an emulsion of water and oil.

Sugar/gluconoamide alkoxylate compositions and uses thereof

Surfactants capable of releasing and/or dissolving polymers to form water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer solutions are disclosed. In addition, polymer compositions containing a water-in-oil emulsion comprising the surfactant are provided and can be used, for example, in methods of dissolving a polymer. Also disclosed are detergent compositions and methods of cleaning articles and/or membranes using the surfactants herein. These surfactants and polymer compositions can be used in various industries including for water clarification, papermaking, sewage and industrial water treatment, drilling mud stabilizers, and enhanced oil recovery.

Multiple charged cationic compounds, which are derived from polyamines through an aza-Michael addition with an &#x3b1;, &#x3b2;-unsaturated carbonyl compound, in a clay treatment composition to reduces clay swelling, clay migration, and sludge formation in a subterranean formation in oil and gas operations are provided. The disclosed methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions commonly used for reducing clay swelling, clay migration, and sludge formation.

Use of multiple charged cationic compounds derived from polyamines for clay stabilization in oil and gas operations

Disclosed herein is a novel class of multiple charged cationic or anionic compounds that are derived from an aza-Michael Addition reaction between a polyamine (Michael donor) and an activated olefin (Michael acceptor), methods of making the same, and use thereof. Also disclosed herein are the methods of using multiple charged cationic or anionic compounds disclosed herein in a reverse emulsion breaker composition to break reverse emulsion commonly found in a produced fluid in oil and gas operations. The disclosed REB methods or compositions are found to be more effective than those methods or compositions including commonly used for oil/solid and water separation.

Methods of using specific multiple charged cationic compounds, which are derived from polyamines through an aza-Michael addition with an &#x3b1;, &#x3b2;-unsaturated carbonyl compound, in a clay treatment composition to reduces clay swelling, clay migration, and sludge formation in a subterranean formation in oil and gas operations are provided. A corrosion inhibitor composition and method of inhibiting corrosion on a surface in an oil or gas application is disclosed and claimed. The corrosion inhibitor includes at least one fatty acid; at least one alkanolamine; at least one alkylamine; and at least one organic sulfonic acid. The method of inhibiting corrosion includes on a surface in an oil or gas application comprises contacting an effective dosage of the corrosion inhibitor with the surface.

Corrosion inhibitors for oil and gas applications

Corrosion inhibitor compositions, methods of inhibiting or reducing corrosion, and methods of manufacturing corrosion inhibitor compositions are disclosed herein. In certain methods, the corrosion inhibitor compositions may be added to an aqueous industrial system having at least one surface. The aqueous industrial system may be a water recirculating system, a cooling water system, a boiler water system, a pulp slurry, a papermaking process, a ceramic slurry, a mixed solid/liquid system, or an oil-field system. A method of manufacturing a corrosion inhibitor composition may include reacting an alkanolamine with a fatty acid to form a fatty acid ester reaction product and reacting the fatty acid ester reaction product with an alkyl halide or an acrylate.
