A console for an exercise device includes a translational mechanism and a rotational mechanism. During operation, a component of the exercise device may prevent rotation or at least partially obscure the user's view of the display. The translational mechanism may move the console out of the way of the component so that the console may be moved and the display visible to the user when performing an exercise activity while dismounted from the exercise device.

Embodiments relate to exercise systems, and more particularly to adjustable exercise cycles. In accordance with at least some aspects, a stationary exercise cycle includes an incline mechanism that adjusts an incline of an upright support structure. The incline mechanism is aligned with a portion of an upright support structure on which a handle bar assembly is mounted. In some cases, the exercise cycle includes a console that can be rotated for viewing when not riding on the exercise cycle. The exercise cycle can also include an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the position of a seat or the handle bar assembly. The adjustment mechanism can include a cam-based locking mechanism for selectively securing the seat or handle bar assembly in place.

An exercise machine includes a joint assembly. The joint assembly includes a pivot rod, a first component connected to the pivot rod, a second component connected to the pivot rod, and a bushing mounted on the pivot rod between the first component and the second component. The bushing includes a body with a first side and a second side, the body comprising an elastic, flexible material; a first plate connected to the first side of the body; and a second plate connected to the second side of the body.

An exercise machine includes a frame and a resistance mechanism attached to the frame. A crank assembly is in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism, and the crank assembly includes a crank axle, a crank arm connected to the crank axle, and a roller connected to a distal end of the crank arm. A first pedal assembly is movably attached to the crank assembly and movable in a performance of an exercise. A second pedal assembly is movably attached to the crank assembly and movable in the performance of the exercise. Each of the first pedal assembly and the second pedal assembly include a pedal beam and a first tensioned element spanning at least a portion of an underside of the pedal beam. At least a portion of the resistance mechanism is disposed between the first pedal assembly and the second pedal assembly.

An exercise machine includes a frame and a resistance mechanism attached to the frame. A crank assembly in mechanical communication with the resistance mechanism, and the crank assembly includes a crank arm and a roller connected to the crank arm. A pedal assembly is movably attached to the crank assembly and movable in a performance of an exercise. The pedal assembly includes a pedal beam and a first tensioned element that spans at least a first portion of an underside of the pedal beam. A second tensioned element spans a second portion of the underside of the pedal beam and the roller is disposed between the first tensioned element and the second tensioned element.

An elliptical exercise machine includes a first foot pedal and a second foot pedal attached to a frame to travel along reciprocating paths. A resistance mechanism is also integrated into the elliptical exercise machine to resist movement of the first and second foot pedals along the reciprocating paths. A locking mechanism is arranged to secure the first and second foot pedals in place and prevent them from moving when the locking mechanism is in a secured mode. The locking mechanism is in communication with a locking input mechanism and is arranged to switch between the secured mode and an operational mode that allows the first and second foot pedals to travel in response to user input received through the locking input mechanism.

An elliptical exercise machine includes a base support structure adapted to be positioned on a support surface. The machine includes first and second reciprocating foot supports, each foot support being movably linked to the base support structure. Additionally, a ramp assembly is situated on the base support structure, the ramp assembly having first and second guide rails for guiding the respective second ends of the first and second foot supports such that the foot supports move in an elliptical path when the elliptical exercise machine is operating. Moreover, a first support member is linked to the base support structure, wherein the first support member is pivotably linked to the ramp assembly at a point above the base support structure. Furthermore, a lift mechanism is linked on a first end to the base support structure and pivotably linked on a second end to the ramp assembly above the base support structure.

Exercise devices, components for exercise devices and related methods are provided. In one embodiment, an exercise device is provided in the form of a treadmill including a frame, a platform or deck, a continuous or circuitous belt surrounding the platform, and at least one columnar member coupled with e frame and extending generally upwards from the frame when the exercise device is in an intended operating orientation. A cushioning device is directly coupled to the columnar member and in contact with an underlying support surface. In one embodiment, the cushioning device may include a first end member coupled with the columnar member, a second end member in contact with the supporting surface, and one or more compression members disposed between the first end member and the second end member.
