An image display apparatus includes an imaging device configured to generate image data; a receiving unit configured to receive movement of a display area in a vertical direction or in a horizontal direction within the image data, the display area being displayed on a display device, and also receive rotation of the image data; an image processing unit configured to rotate the image data in accordance with an amount of rotation, and, in a case where the movement of the display area in the vertical direction or in the horizontal direction is received with respect to the rotated image data, move the display area in the vertical direction or in the horizontal direction within the rotated image data; an image cutting unit configured to cut the display area from the image data; and an outputting unit configured to display the display area on the display device.

Image display apparatus and image display method

An inclination angle of a display unit having a display is detected, the inclination angle being around an axis of the display unit in the fore-aft direction of a vehicle. The left and right of an image representing a scene behind the vehicle, the image being obtained by photography with a camera, is reversed. The reversed image is inclined through an angle that has the same absolute value as the detected inclination angle in a direction opposite to the direction of the inclination of the inclination angle. A display image range is set on the inclined image. An image in the display image range is extracted and displayed on the display.

Electronic mirror system

A display control apparatus connected to an imaging apparatus installed in a vehicle includes an obtaining unit which obtains image data obtained by the imaging apparatus capturing an image of a portion on a rear side of the vehicle, a specifying unit which specifies, as a compression region, a pixel region which does not include image elements indicating straight objects extending along a traveling direction of the vehicle in a pixel region in a lower portion in the image data, a generation unit which generates display image data of a predetermined display size by compressing the specified compression region in the image data, and a controller which performs control so that the generated display image data is visually recognized through an electronic mirror disposed as a rearview mirror of the vehicle.

Display control apparatus, display control method, and camera monitoring system

A malfunction diagnosis apparatus includes: a first temperature detector; a second temperature detector that is placed in a different location from where the first temperature detector is placed; a difference value calculation device calculates a difference value between a detection value from the first temperature detector and a detection value from the second temperature detector; a mapping device carries out mapping of the difference value and calculates a correction value using the frequency of the difference value; a malfunction diagnosis device diagnoses whether or not there is a malfunction in the first temperature detector and the second temperature detector; and a recovery device calculates, as a detection value of the first or second temperature detector judged to be malfunctioning, a value by adding the correction value to a detection value from the first or second temperature detector judged not to be malfunctioning.
