A vehicle control system, a vehicle control method, and a storage medium are provided. A stopping process stops fuel supply to one or more stopping cylinders and supplies fuel to one or more remaining cylinders during a load operation of an engine. During execution of the stopping process, a compensating process compensates for a decrease in output of the one or more stopping cylinders due to the execution of the stopping process by increasing output generated by combustion in the one or more remaining cylinders. The system control circuit causes, when the engine rotation speed of the engine is the same, the output after being increased by the compensating process to decrease as a shaft torque of the crankshaft of the engine increases.

Vehicle control system, vehicle control method, and storage medium

A hybrid vehicle starts execution of temporary increase control that temporarily increases an allowable discharge power that is a maximum power dischargeable from a power storage device, on satisfaction of a predetermined start condition, and terminates execution of the temporary increase control on satisfaction of a predetermined termination condition. When a predetermined stop condition that is different from the predetermined termination condition is satisfied during execution of the temporary increase control, the hybrid vehicle terminates execution of the temporary increase control and prohibits subsequent execution of the temporary increase control until elapse of a first predetermined time. This configuration suppresses frequent repetition of a temporary increase of the allowable discharge power (output limit) of the power storage device such as a battery and its cancellation.

On satisfaction of conditions to shift to scavenging control in response to a stop request of an engine, a hybrid vehicle performs engine power limitation control that limits the power output from the engine with an engine upper limit power as an upper limit.

When a hybrid vehicle travels in CS mode in EV single-drive mode, when a required torque is larger than a torque threshold or when a required power is larger than a power threshold, and when a predetermined high response request is not being issued, a drive mode is caused to shift into HV drive mode. When the predetermined high response request is being issued, the drive mode is caused to shift into EV double-drive mode.

At a time of HV traveling entailing a load operation of an engine in a CD mode, an electronic control unit sets a required torque Tr* by using a map for a CS mode, in which the required torque Tr* is set to be lower than in a map for the CD mode, as at a time of the CS mode. Then, the electronic control unit control the engine and a motor for traveling in accordance with the required torque Tr*. Accordingly, a rise in the required torque Tr* can be suppressed compared to setting of the required torque Tr* using the map for the CD mode and a sense of high-rpm idling attributable to a rise in a rotation speed of the engine can be inhibited from being felt by a driver.

Hybrid car

In a hybrid vehicle, in double-drive mode of an electric drive mode, in which the hybrid vehicle travels by using two motors, that is, a first motor and a second motor, in a state where execution of vibration damping control with the use of the second motor is being required, when it is possible to output a total torque, which is the sum of a second distribution torque and a vibration damping torque, from the second motor to a drive shaft, the vibration damping control with the use of the second motor is executed; whereas, when it is not possible to output the total torque from the second motor to the drive shaft, vibration damping control with the use of the first motor is executed.

A hybrid vehicle includes an engine, a power storage device, a motor generator that receives electric power from the power storage device to generate travel driving force, and an ECU. The ECU selects one of a CD mode and a CS mode, and switches a traveling mode between EV traveling and HV traveling in accordance with a traveling condition in each of the CD mode and the CS mode. Responsiveness of a vehicle driving torque to an operation of an accelerator pedal is higher in the CD mode than in the CS mode.

A hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, an electric power storage device, an electric motor, and an electronic control unit. The internal combustion engine is configured to generate a traveling driving force. The electric motor is configured to generate a traveling driving force by receiving electric power supply from the electric power storage device. The electronic control unit is configured to control the internal combustion engine and the electric motor during switching between a selected state of a first mode and a selected state of a second mode such that a speed at which a vehicle driving torque approaches a value subsequent to the switching of the selection state from a value prior to the switching of the selection state within a predetermined period of time from a time point of the switching is lower than the speed subsequent to an elapse of the predetermined period of time.

During EV traveling in a CD mode, an electronic control unit determine that an engine is in a state where the engine is likely to be started when an electric power storage ratio SOC of a battery falls short of a threshold Sref, when a battery temperature Tb of the battery falls short of a threshold Tbref, when an output limit Wout of the battery falls short of a threshold Wref, when a temperature Tmg2 of a motor is higher than a threshold Tmg2ref, and when a torque limit Tm2lim of the motor falls short of a threshold Tm2limref. Then, the electronic control unit set a required torque Tr* by using a map for a CS mode in which the required torque Tr* is set to be lower than in a map for the CD mode.

Engine start suppression for a hybrid car

An ECU can select one of a Charge Depleting (CD) mode and a Charge Sustaining (CS) mode. The ECU changes responsiveness of a vehicle driving torque to an operation of an accelerator pedal between the CD mode and the CS mode such that the responsiveness is higher when the CD mode is selected than when the CS mode is selected. When the responsiveness is changed in accordance with mode switching, the ECU further performs a gradually-changing process for bringing the responsiveness from a value before mode switching closer to a value after mode switching as time progresses.

An ECU may make a changeover between EV running and HV running in accordance with a running situation in each of a CD mode and a CS mode. A start power threshold of an engine at the time when the CD mode is selected may be larger than the start power threshold at the time when the CS mode is selected. Then, the ECU may change the driving force characteristics of a vehicle depending on whether the CD mode or the CS mode is selected that may result in the vehicle driving torque for the same vehicle speed and the same accelerator opening degree being larger when the CD mode is selected than when the CS mode is selected.

A vehicle includes an engine, a battery storing electric power generated by operating the engine, and an ECU allowing the engine to stop in the state where a remaining capacity of the battery is larger than a first threshold value. When the engine is started by a factor different from a reduction in the remaining capacity of the battery in the state where the remaining capacity of the battery is smaller than the first threshold value, ECU causes the engine to operate and causes the battery to be charged until the remaining capacity of the battery increases to a second threshold value which is larger than the first threshold value.

An ECU executes a program including the steps of: prohibiting startup of an engine when there is a request for execution of a deterioration diagnosis process and when the deterioration diagnosis process is in execution; and releasing prohibition of startup of the engine when the deterioration diagnosis process is completed.

In a gear-shift instruction device for the hybrid vehicle that includes an engine that can output power for running, an electric motor (such as a motor-generator and a motor) that can output power for running, a power transmission system that transmits power to a drive wheel and can manually select a gear shift position, and a gear-shift instruction unit that prompts a change of the gear shift position to a driver, modes of the guide for gear shift are different between during electric motor running (EV running) and during hybrid running (HV running) for a same accelerator depression amount and vehicle speed in a state that allows manual gear shift operation (manual gear shift mode). This ensures the compatibility between: improvement in energy efficiency and fuel consumption by the gear shift instruction; and reduction in burden of the driver due to gear shifting based on the gear shift instruction.

Gear-shift instruction device for hybrid vehicle

In a hybrid vehicle provided with a continuously variable electric transmission mechanism capable of sequential shift mode, a minimum engine rotational speed is specified for each gear specified in the sequential shift mode so that the lower the gear, the greater the minimum engine rotational speed. When the engine rotational speed has decreased to the minimum rotational speed while driving in the sequential shift mode, an upshift lamp of a gear shift indication device is turned on to prompt the driver to manually shift to a higher gear. As the driver shifts to a higher gear in response to the prompt, the minimum engine rotational speed is specified to a lower value. That allows for further decrease of the engine rotational speed and improves fuel consumption rate.
