A virtual machine managing apparatus includes a processor coupled to a memory storing instructions for executing an acquiring unit configured to acquire performance values of plural virtual machines, and a control unit configured to control virtual machines having approximately a same sequential change of the performance values in a time-domain, out of the plural virtual machines, to be arranged on different processing apparatuses among plural processing apparatuses carrying out processes of virtual machines.

Grouping and placement of virtual machines based on similarity and correlation of functional relations

In a virtual machine system, an arrangement of virtual machines, which has fault tolerance, is performed. A virtual machine managing apparatus includes a similar group generating unit and an arrangement restriction generating unit. The similar group generating unit generates a group of virtual machines having a similarity relationship which indicates that performance values of virtual machines at each timing are approximately the same, out of plural virtual machines. The arrangement restriction generating unit outputs the group of virtual machines having the similarity relationship as a distributed-arrangement restriction indicating a group of virtual machines to be arranged on different processing apparatuses among plural processing apparatuses carrying out processes of the virtual machines.

A storage stores content information for a trial version of an application program assigned identification information and content information for a product version; a license information acquisition unit acquires license information for the application program by referring to request information acknowledged by an input acknowledging unit; a determination unit determines whether the license information for the application program is stored in the memory by referring to the identification information; and a display processing unit generates a display screen using first content information until the determination unit determines that the license information is stored, and generates a display screen using second content information when the determination unit determines that the license information is stored.

Information processing apparatus

A client terminal reads a device ID fixedly assigned to itself, and sends the device ID to an authentication server to make a request for authentication. The authentication server authenticates the device ID accepted from the client terminal. When succeeding in the authentication, the authentication server issues and sends a ticket to the client terminal. The client terminal receives the ticket, and then sends the ticket to a locator server to make a request for registration of an IP address. The locator server verifies the correctness of the accepted ticket. When the correctness is confirmed, the locator server registers an ID and the IP address of the client terminal in a manner that they are associated with each other, and replies the completion of the registration.
