A current collector for a battery includes: a layer () formed from an electrically conductive material and at least one of (a) a polymer compound having an alicyclic structure, (b) a saturated hydrocarbon polymer compound having a hydroxyl group, (c) a phenoxy resin and an epoxy resin, and (d) an amine having an amine equivalent of 120 g/eq or less and an epoxy resin; a layer () which is formed on at least one surface of the layer (); and a layer () formed from an electrically conductive material. The current collector for a battery has stability to an equilibrium potential environment in a negative electrode, a low electric resistance, a blocking property to solvent in electrolytic solution, and a blocking property to a component in an electrolyte. In addition, the current collector for a battery has a high capacity retention rate, and battery durability is improved.

Current collector for battery and battery using same

A system includes a radiator side flow path for supplying a coolant which has cooled a fuel cell stack to a radiator, a bypass flow path for allowing the coolant which has cooled the fuel cell stack to bypass the radiator, a thermostat valve for increasing a flow rate of the coolant flowing through the radiator side flow path in a case where the temperature of the coolant is high as compared to a case where the temperature of the coolant is low, and an electric heater for warming up the coolant. The electric heater is controlled based on an outside atmospheric pressure and on the temperature of the coolant such that the temperature of the coolant flowing into the fuel cell stack is raised in a case where the outside atmospheric pressure is high as compared to a case where the outside atmospheric pressure is low.

Vehicle fuel cell cooling system

An ion exchange filter for a fuel cell system includes a housing with a fluid flow-in port and a cartridge which is disposed inside the housing and in which an ion exchange resin is filled, the fluid flowing in the cartridge through the flow-in port is filtrated therein by the ion exchange resin and the filtrated fluid flows out through the flow-out port. The housing has a casing having an opened upper end and a lid closing the upper end opening, and the fluid flow-in port has an outer peripheral wall of the casing at a portion above a bottom surface of the cartridge disposed inside the housing and the fluid flow-out port is formed to the lid, and a gap is formed between the housing and the cartridge for flowing the fluid flowing inside the housing through the flow-in port towards the bottom portion of the housing.

Ion exchange filter

A fuel cell is protected from performance degradation and damage by determining when an ion exchange resin filter needs replacement before the occurrence of an increase in the electric conductivity of water used in the fuel cell system. The replacement time of the ion exchange resin filteris judged by an ion-exchange capacity judging parton the basis of the result of comparing a reference electric conductivity as preset with the electric conductivity of coolant water circulating in a coolant water cycle as measured by an electric conductivity metera predetermined time after a coolant water pumpstarts operation.

Fuel cell system

A fuel cell system has a heater () for heating water in the fuel cell system; and a controller () for controlling the heater. The controller () executes a stop mode having the smaller energy consumption of a temperature maintenance mode where water in the fuel cell system is maintained to a temperature greater than freezing point in a period after a shutdown the fuel cell system until a scheduled start-up date-time and a defrost start-up mode where frozen water in the fuel cell system is melted when the fuel cell system undergoes a start-up operation. The controller () stores a historical external temperature data for a period prior to the shutdown of the fuel cell system. The historical external temperature data is used for predicting the external temperature for the scheduled start-up date-time. The controller () calculates the energy consumption in the defrost start-up mode based on the predicted external temperature.

A fuel cell power plant comprises plural fuel cell stacks (A&#x2013;B) capable of generating power independently, and a warm-up circuit () which can independently warm up the fuel cell stacks (A&#x2013;C). A controller () estimates a required output power of the power plant within a predetermined time from when the vehicle starts running (S&#x2013;S), and determines the number of fuel cell stacks satisfying the required output power (S). The controller () economizes energy required for warm-up of the fuel cell stacks while providing the required output power by warming up only the determined number of fuel cell stacks before the vehicle starts running.
