Provided are a device and a method of generating and outputting a corrected image including high-precision vegetation index values such as NDVI values in a vegetation portion region on the basis of an image in which a vegetation portion and a soil portion coexist. The device includes a vegetation index value set image correcting section that generates a corrected image of a vegetation index value set image in which a vegetation index value such as an NDVI value is set as a pixel value. The vegetation index value set image correcting section calculates, for each of pixels constituting the vegetation index value set image, an average pixel value of the pixel and neighboring pixels, generates an averaged image in which the calculated average pixel values are set, generates a binarized image by binarizing a difference image between the vegetation index value set image and the averaged image in accordance with a specified threshold, and generates, as the corrected image of the vegetation index value set image, a multiplication image by multiplying the vegetation index value set image and the binarized image.

Vegetation change information properly indicating a time series change of a vegetation state can be generated. To this end, a data group including vegetation data of multiple time points respectively associated with ratio information which is a component ratio of ambient light is an object to be processed. This device includes an extraction section that extracts, from the data group, vegetation data for use by using ratio information, and a generation section that generates vegetation change information indicating a time series change of a vegetation state by using the vegetation data extracted by the extraction section. By use of ratio information, vegetation data obtained under similar ambient light conditions can be collected.

In a recording apparatus for a mirror mother tape to be used in a contact-type magnetic printing process, a chrominance signal of an incoming color video signal is converted into a down converted chrominance signal having a reduced frequency fC, a beat cancelling signal having a frequency 2fC is generated from the down converted chrominance signal, the beat cancelling signal is added to a luminance signal of the incoming color video signal thereby generating an added signal, and the down converted chrominance signal is combined with the added signal to provide a composite signal which is recorded on a mirror mother tape.

A magnetic tape transfer printing apparatus including a drum mounted for rotation. A master magnetic tape having information recorded thereon is held in contact with a slave magnetic tape on a portion of the circumferential surface of the drum. A magnetic transfer bias field is applied to transfer the information from the master magnetic tape onto the slave magnetic tape. The drum contains a high-permeability magnetic material at least in the circumferential surface. This is effective to decrease the lateral component of the bias magnetic field and increase the vertical component of the bias magnetic field, thereby minimizing the degree of demagnetization of the master magnetic tape during the transfer printing process.
